Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha are all set to tie the knot and I’m excited about all the wedding inspiration coming my way! While both of them tried to keep everything under wraps, their recent run-ins gave it all away. Parineeti was also spotted at Manish Malhotra’s office, adding fuel to the fire. And if that was not enough, AAP MP Sanjeev Arora took to his Twitter to congratulate the couple.
Of course, I had to do a little digging and find out more about the groom. Here’s everything to know about Raghav Chadha, the soon-to-be husband of Parineeti Chopra.
Early Life
Born on 11th November 1988 to Sunil Chadha and Alka Chadha, Raghav was raised in Delhi. He completed his schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba. He then went to Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi for graduation. However, he left the college after a year to pursue Chartered Accountancy (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Post this, Raghav went to the London School of Economics for a certificate course in EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration). It was in London where the two apparently met.
Political Career
Raghav Chadha’s political career started when he joined the anti-corruption movement India Against Corruption in 2011, led by Anna Hazare. There, he met Arvind Kejriwal and has been with the Aam Aadmi party since its inception. In 2012, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, also encouraged Raghav to draft the Delhi Lokpal Bill 2012, which was also the first political task given to Raghav. After that, Raghav became AAP’s face on TV and the party’s youngest national spokesperson at the age of 24 years.
After AAP won the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, Raghav was appointed as the party’s national treasurer at the age of 26. In 2019, Raghav Raghav contested in the Lok Sabha elections from the South Delhi Parliamentary Constituency. He lost to BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri.
In 2020, Raghav was appointed as AAP’s Punjab co-in-charge for the Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2022. The party won in Punjab by securing 92 out of 112 assembly seats and Raghav was credited as the man behind their historic win.
Raghav was also appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal board in 2020. He was also nominated by AAP in 2022 for the post of Rajya Sabha member from Punjab. With no opposition against him, Raghav went on to become the youngest MP at the age of 33.
Hobbies & Interests
Apart from his busy political career, Raghav likes to play cricket and badminton. Both Raghav and Parineeti love to travel to offbeat destinations.
When Raghav Talked About His ‘Girlfriend’
Before the news broke, Raghav Chadha was considered one of the most eligible bachelors in India. This one time when he was asked about his relationship status, he said, “I am single. I don’t have time to watch a movie, do you think I’ll have time for a girl? There is only one girl who understands my schedule, and that’s my mother.“
Parineeti & Raghav’s Relationship
Rumours about the two started doing the rounds when fans spotted the duo at the first ‘India UK Outstanding Achievers’ awards in London, in January. However, reports at that time suggested the two are ‘just good friends’ and have known each other since their time in London. Parineeti was studying at Manchester Business School whereas Raghav was at the London School of Economics.
But their recent rendezvous got the gossip mills churning again and a formal ceremony is set to take place soon.
