An 8-Step Guide To Recreating Dia Mirza’s Minimal Wedding Makeup Look

Yesterday, actor Dia Mirza tied the knot with businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. While she looked like a vision in her red silk sari, it was her flower-decked and minimal makeup that got us talking. Dia had her hair tied up in a neat, low bun and covered it with white gajras. Makeup artist Shraddha Mishra gave the actor a natural makeup look and we’re all for it! Based on our deductions, we’ve put together a 8-step guide to nailing the look.

Want to recreate Dia Mirza’s wedding makeup look? Here’s a complete guide

Step 1: Ice Your Face

Of course, we do in-depth research before giving you beauty advice and after sifting through a ton of tips from Dia’s makeup artist Shraddha Mishra, we may have found the secret to the lit-from-within-glow: ice cubes. She recommends rubbing ice cubes all over your face to give it an instant radiance.

Step 2: CTM is a must

When you really want your skin to look like a million bucks (Dia Mirza’s sure did) you want to spend some time working on your skincare. Cleansing, toning and moisturising are a must. Pro tip: Do not even attempt to try out a new skincare product on your big day, no matter how glowy it promises to make your skin look.

Step 3: Prime Everything

Do not skip this step, especially if you want your makeup to last for hours without the hassle of touch ups. Use a hydrating primer on the high points of your face and a mattifying one on your T-zone. Prep your eyes with a base so your eye makeup doesn’t crease or shift around.

Step 4: Do Your Eye Makeup Before Finishing Your Base

On her lids, Dia is wearing a shimmery nude shadow and has tightlined her upper and lower lash line with kajal. Thick black eyeliner and fluttery lashes compliment her look and a dusting of brown eyeshadow, smudged out on her lower lash line helps to tie the whole look together. Brush up your brows and fill them in wherever needed.

Step 5: Keep Your Base Dewy

For a dewy base, pick a foundation that is hydrating and apply it with a damp beauty blender. If you have a matte foundation on hand, add a drop or two of your favourite facial oil and mix it well. Dot it all over your face and blend it well. Use concealer to spot correct any imperfections if you wish but remember to go lighthanded with it—we’re aiming for a non-cakey, natural look. After doing your foundation, spritz some setting spray liberally. This will seal in your base. Next, take some setting powder and only dust it where you tend to get oily. If you feel like your base is looking too powdery, just spritz some setting spray and wait for the powders to melt together.

Step 6: Bring Out The Blush And Contour

Rosy-peachy cheeks are a must to give your face some colour. Opt for blush that is close to your skin tone and blend a creamy formula on the apples of your cheeks. Dust a matching powder blush on and then, very lighthandedly, contour your cheekbones and jawline using a powder contour product. Spritz some setting spray again.

Step 7: Highlight, Highlight And Highlight!

On the high points of your face, use a buildable highlighter. Dia used a golden one but you can opt for a champagne- or pink-toned one.

Step 8: Go For A Pink Or Mauve-Nude Lipstick

To match her cheeks, Dia opted for a mauve-nude lip colour. A trick to make sure your lipstick doesn’t budge? Apply, blot, apply, blot and apply again. This way, it won’t move!

Wishing the gorgeous couple a ton of happiness!
