Every time I attend a family wedding, I dread the moment of vidaai. While I don’t completely understand it, my heart goes out every time I see the Dulhan and her family in tears. It’s such a bittersweet yet touching moment, and one that they’ll truly remember for a lifetime
Okay, we didn’t mean to get so senti but honestly, we could not stop ourselves after watching this super emotional video. Bride Aafreen Arora dedicated her Sangeet performance to her family and got all of us teary-eyed with her words. She chose some of the best medleys of Bollywood to convey her emotions and boy did it convey every bit of it! Take a look at this beautiful video and do not forget to keep some tissues by your side:
Mud Ke Na Dekho Dilbado
Even though Alia Bhatt did not really perform on the song Dilbado in her movie Raazi, it still became one of the best songs of 2018 for the sheer reason that almost every girl could relate to its beautiful lyrics. Aafreen dedicated the song to her father and kept her dance moves simple and graceful. Also, we love how she went heavy on the skirt department but kept the dupatta feather-light to help her perform easily on her Sangeet.
The bride dedicated an equally emotional song for her mother called Aisa Kyun Maa from Neerja and we could only agree when she said, “Maa ek achi behen hai, maa ek achi wife hai, maa ek achi friend bhi hai, maa sab ki jageh le sakti hai, par maa ki jageh koi nahi le sakta.” Finally, Aafreen concluded her performance while expressing her love and affection for her brother. Honestly, after watching her emotional brother, we needed a small break to get ourselves together!
Floral Deets & Hairdo
Though Aafreen chose to keep her dupatta and top light and flowy, she opted for statement jewellery pieces and let them do all the talking. She sported a chic choker along with an OTT maangtikka but frankly, that’s not what truly grabbed our attention. The highlight of Aafreen’s entire ensemble was her delicate hairdo and floral gajra that was all about intricacy.
She styled her hair with a few thin braids and covered the crown with gorgeous white flowers. She completed the look with heavy floral bracelets attached with delicate danglers. Seriously, if there’s one bridal trend that we believe is not leaving us anytime soon, then our bets are definitely on floral jewellery.
