The first thing that comes to our minds when we think of Diwali is lights, sparkle and fireworks! Although the celebrations this year would be slightly different and intimate due to the pandemic, let it not dampen your spirits. This Diwali, take a break from your PJs, put on a gorgeous outfit and do your makeup like the bombshell you were born to be. If you need help with makeup shopping, we would be happy to tag along!
Shine on, ladies!
A crucial step in your quest towards glowing skin is skin-prep. I’m a firm believer in the less is more approach towards makeup. To perfect my base, I start my makeup with an illuminating primer like the Becca backlight filter and dab a little bit of concealer only in areas that need it. I then use a loose powder to set any areas I’ve applied concealer to and finish off my makeup with a dash of powder highlighter. A formula I’ve been enjoying using is the Becca Shimmering skin perfector in the shade moonstone, it glides on like butter! I use a small fluffy brush and concentrate application along with the high points — cheekbones, bridge and tip of the nose, chin and brow bone. And lastly, this final step makes all the difference - I use a setting spray on a damp beauty sponge and dab the highlighter in. This step not only makes sure the highlighter melts into your skin, but it also looks extremely natural.

The MyGlamm Magic Potion in the shade Unicorn made me believe in magic! Thanks to its easy to use roll-on applicator and water-based formula, my skin looks glowy and hydrated each time I use it. To give my skin that angelic glow, I give the product a shake, and then roll it over the bridge of my nose, cupid's bow, on the cheekbones, and dab a little bit of sparkle on the inner corners of my eyes. Sometimes, I like to layer it over my matte lipstick to add sparkle to my pout.

For the festive season, I like to go all out- the shimmery eyes, the bronzed skin and the highlighted cheekbones and not to forget my bedazzled bindi. Even though we’re having a very intimate Diwali celebration this year, I would still like to glam up for it with the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder. Honestly, I use it for just about everything- to highlight my skin, as an eyeshadow on its own and even to add some glitter to my lip colour. I love the pinkish hue the product has cause it compliments my skin tone excellently.

If you know me at all, then you know that I love applying a highlighter. Even if I apply absolutely no makeup on a particular day (those kajal and lip balm kinda days), I make sure that I apply highlighter on my cheeks and cupid’s bow. My current fave technique is to swirl my brush into all eight pans of the Makeup Revolution Soph X Highlighter Palette and top it off with Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ Extreme Frost (Gag Me) as it gives an illusion of an #InstaFilter in real life. Applying the JSC’s highlighter on its own looks so good on the cheeks and even on lids! If you love to glow out loud, this should be your next purchase!

I love the Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Bronze. Not only does it add a warm metallic sheen to my skin, but it also stays put for long hours -- even after a long night of dancing. Since it's highly pigmented, I just dab a little on my cheekbones and a bit on the inner corners of my eyes to get that unmissable glow.
