(Don’t) make way for maskne! Of all the things that have currently become the new normal, maskne has to be the most painful one. Mask + acne= maskne, for those of you who were wondering.

Step 1: In a bowl, soak 1/2 cup oats for 20 minutes to make them soft.

Step 2: In the meantime, take another bowl and add 3-4 tbsps, honey and 1 tbsp turmeric powder.

Step 3: Once the oats are damp and soft, squeeze out the excess water and add it to your mixture and that’s basically it.

– Apply this soothing mixture on the affected area for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with a foaming cleanser. You can also add a few drops of rosewater into the mixture.

– If you have acne scars, you can switch honey with 1 tbsp. tomato juice as it helps lighten the acne scars effectively.

– You can also add 1 tbsp. fresh aloe vera gel if you have really sensitive skin as aloe vera has soothing properties.

Why Will This Work?

Since your skin is flared up and is breaking out constantly, you need to use ingredients that are not only gentle in nature but also help calm down the zits.

Oats: Oats are an excellent source of saponins that not only gently exfoliates the skin but also helps absorb excess oil from it.

Turmeric powder: In India, turmeric is used extensively to treat wounds, both internal and external, and it works amazingly on acne too. It not only helps kill the bacteria but will also ensure they stay away for a while.

Honey: Honey has antibacterial properties that not only soothes the existing acne but also acts as a mean, bacteria-killing agent.

Speaking of which, have you tried WIPEOUT By MyGlamm’s range of germ-killing products?
