One of the most common misconceptions in the skincare world is that dry and dehydrated skin are the same—this couldn't be further from the truth. To give your skin the proper nourishment it requires, you need to first know what you’re treating.
Dry skin is a term used to describe a specific skin type which not everyone experiences. Those who suffer from dry skin deal with these skin issues:
- The skin feels tight and rough
- Appears flaky
- Has less sebum secretion
- Red patches
- More prone to fine lines and wrinkles
Many factors result in this skin type with the main one being the change in season and weather. Since your skin type changes with seasons, many people find themselves tackling dry skin when the temperature drops.
