I Know You’re Watching Over Us: Riddhima Pens Emotional Note On Rishi Kapoor’s Birthday

On April 30 earlier this year, the nation woke up to the tragic news of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s demise. He passed away after a two-year battle with cancer, with his grief-stricken family by his side. Today would’ve been the late actor’s 68th birthday, and this one will surely be an emotional rollercoaster for the family and his fans.

Just minutes before the clock struck midnight, Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to her Instagram handle and shared some lovely pictures of the late actor with the family. The pictures show Rishi Kapoor with Riddhima and Ranbir Kapoor, along with wife Neetu Kapoor, and the throwback pictures have our hearts.

She also penned a heart-wrenching note for his father. Wishing her daddy dearest on his birth anniversary, Riddhima wrote, “Papa, They say when you lose someone, you can’t live without -your heart will badly break! But I know you are living in this broken heart & will be there forever”.

Pouring her heart out, Riddhima also thanked him for instilling important life lessons in them. “I know you are watching over all of us & ensuring that we live by the value system you instilled in us! You gave me the gift of compassion – taught me the value of relationships & made me the person I am today! I miss you each day & will always love you! Celebrating you today & always – Happy Birthday”, she added.

On the day of Rishi Kapoor’s death, Riddhima had penned a beautiful letter to her father as she couldn’t attend his funeral owing to the lockdown in place due to the coronavirus pandemic. She watched the funeral on FaceTime while travelling from Delhi to Mumbai.

Riddhima called him a warrior and wrote, “Papa I love you I will always love you – RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you everyday I will miss your FaceTime calls everyday! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you ! Until we meet again papa I love you – your Mushk forever”.

Last seen in The Body alongside Emraan Hashmi, Rishi Kapoor had a career spanning over five decades. He, along with wife Neetu, was in the US for his cancer treatment and had returned to India in September after almost a year. Post his return, the actor wasn’t keeping well and was admitted to the hospital at least thrice. The late actor was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on April 29 after he complained about difficulty in breathing and breathed his last the next day. His family has been quite active on their Instagram handles and keeps on sharing his pictures in his memory with positive notes, urging people to value their loved ones.
