Especially with everything going on in the world, (you know the fact that there’s a pandemic and we haven’t stepped out of the house without fear) I like to relax my brain every night and watch films that’ll just make me feel better. The Princess Diaries
Till the rumoured third part of the much-loved Princess Diaries series doesn’t come out, we might as well watch the first two again. While we’re all for natural beauty and women accepting their hair for all its unruly mess, the scene where Princess Mia debuts her royal look for the first time just makes my heart warm every time. Mia clearly did bushy, feathered eyebrows before they were a trend and always sported radiant and glowy skin with a my-lips-but-better pinkish nude shade lipstick.

From her sultry smokey eye in Behke Behke to her silver and blue eyeshadow look right at the beginning when she’s running late for her maasi’s wedding, Aisha has some of the best beauty looks ever! Even as a pre-teen watching the movie, I knew that every time I’d go to a club to party, my girls and I would have a get ready session just like the one in this movie!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s
It’s been over fifty years since the iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s was released and still, people are obsessed with it and for good reason. But what really made Audrey Hepburn’s role so great? A super-high bun, oversized glasses, and the little black dress- it’s glam and everything stylish. Throughout the movie, we see scenes of Holly Golightly either getting her beauty rest, applying makeup or gazing over the expensive jewellery at Tiffany’s. Rom-com lovers, you can’t miss this one.

Ladies and gentlemen, Veronica is in the house! Cocktail gives you every kind of makeup look you’ll ever need because on the one side, we have the party girl Veronica who rocks a black smokey eye with a shimmery dress and loves playing around with colour and on the other side, we have Meera who keeps it au naturel, with a fresh face, blush, kajal, and pink lipstick. All this along with a juicy love triangle, we’re totes down to watch this!

Crazy Rich Asians
Apart from teaching us a lesson in inclusivity after being the first Hollywood film with an all-Asian cast, Crazy Rich Asians has some of the best beauty moments we’ve ever seen on the big screen. The time when we see Rachel walk out of the car in a gorgeous flowing gown with brown lipstick and eyeliner or when she rocks a glam look for the big fat wedding, we fell head over heels in love with her. Always nailing her fluttery and flirty lashes, this one is a must-watch.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
In this film, we have loads of shayri and not one but two gorgeous ladies- Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and uff, what beauties. If you love Alizeh’s wedding makeup which was all about gold and glamour or if you like her everyday smudged kajal and liner look, you’ve got to sit down after watching it and try it on yourself. And if Saba’s sculpted bronzy look is something you want to adopt, it’ll look great with brown nude lipstick. Either way, the movie is a lesson in both beauty and heartache.

The Devil Wears Prada
A movie based on a fashion house will obviously have a great outlook on style and beauty. A frumpy assistant with journalist dreams, Andy is told a million times that people would kill for her job, and putting in some effort wouldn’t hurt. A (not-so-quick) stop at the beauty department later, we’re greeted with a new and polished Andy who makes the scathing Emily Blunt’s jaw drop. Miranda Priestly and her classic ‘that’s all’ are reason enough to watch this film ASAP.
