While the coronavirus pandemic has cast a somber shadow on the wedding scene across the world, it has also taught us to be more self-reliant. In the past few months, we have witnessed the emergence of a new crop of lockdown brides. These brides are their own stylists, event planners, and MUAs. And as much as we rue the current pandemic for ruining all the wedding fun, we are definitely loving all the facets of this contemporary bride.
Now, as the COVID-19 persists unabated and a possible vaccine still remains months away (that too in the best-case scenario), going to salons and spas for the pre-bridal skincare still doesn't sound like the best idea. Add to it the fact, that India's COVID-19 tally has already crossed the 14 lakh mark and you'd know that staying at home as much as possible is the wisest thing to do right now.
Having said that, we are certainly not suggesting that bride-to-be give up on their pre-bridal skin care altogether. In fact, we have something that would be the perfect way to get some skin TLC while abiding by the self-reliant bride's spirit: a super easy albeit effective, all-natural at-home facial! Intrigued? Here's how to ace it:
Contrary to what you might think, this at-home facial is a sure shot game-changer given that you'd be using all-natural skin-loving ingredients that'll help you with organic, long-lasting results. In fact, we'd highly recommend this facial routine even if it weren't for the pandemic. Yes, it's that good! Excited to indulge in an at-home pampering sesh? Here you go:
Properly exfoliating your skin is the first step for the perfectly indulgent facial and besan happens to be an amazing ingredient for the same. To create your very own scrub mix at home, follow these steps:
-Take 2 tbsp of besan in a clean bowl
-Mix in some fruit pulp
-Add ¼ tbsp of facial oil
-Mix the ingredients and add in some fruit juice to adjust the consistency
-Exfoliate in a circular motion for 5 minutes.
Massaging your skin in the most important part here as this is the step that'll actually make your skin all supple and glowing. Here's what you need to do:
-Mash the fruit of your choice into a pulp
-Mix one tbsp oil to this pulp
-Massage for 10-15 minutes in a circular, upward motion.
Now that your skin is all supple and exfoliated, masking it the final step to lock in that glow. Here's what you'd have to do:
-Use the scrub mix as the face pack too
-Instead of scrubbing this time, just gently apply a thick layer on the skin and let it dry
-Wash away once dry
-Finish off with a gentle dab of facial oil in the end
So, brides-to-be, all set for some at-home skin TLC?
