Were you up all night (again), watching TV series or playing video games, despite the fact you need to get up early for work? Or watched satisfying videos on YouTube or maybe took a quiz online to find out what kind of garlic bread you are?
Congratulations, you’re officially adulting now.
One of the 'perks' of being an adult is that constant feeling of being tired. Like you haven't gotten a good night's sleep in years. You feel tired all the time and your face reveals it all. And those bags under your eyes are definitely not Prada, hunny!
Don't we all wish we could go back in time when we were young and carefree? Well, with these easy DIY's you'll come close!
Since all our plans for the next few weeks basically include quarantine, Netflix and chill, why not add a little self-care into the mix? Here are some awesome DIY masks for your face and eyes that can quickly freshen up and wake up your skin, faster than any Dalgona coffee could.
Soothe your puffy and tired eyes with these simple but super effective DIY eye masks.
- Cucumber juice
- Potato juice
- Tomato juice
- Aloe vera juice
- Two green tea bags
- Small container
Step 1: In a small container, mix cucumber, potato and tomato juices.
Step 2: Using a spoon, pluck out a spoonful of fresh aloe vera gel from the leaf, add one tbsp of rose water and mix it in a blender till its runny and liquidy.
Step 3: Mix everything together, pour the mixture into the small container and put it in the fridge to cool down.
Step4: Once it's colder than your ex's heart, take it out, dip the tea bags in the mask and put it on your eyes and relax.
You can store the remaining mixture in the fridge and use it as many times. Do not use the same mixture after 3 days and the juice will start to spoil.
- Egg white
- 1 tbsp of honey
- Face mask brush
- A bowl
Step 1: In a bowl, break an egg and remove its yolk.
Step 2: Take a banana and cut off an inch, mash it using the spoon and mix it with the egg white.
Step 3: Add one tbsp of honey and mix everything well.
Step 4: Using a mask brush, apply one thick layer under your eyes and let it dry for 15 minutes. Close your eyes and do not open or blink them. This mask will not only brighten up your under eyes but will also act as a DIY skin tightening under-eye mask.
Your mind would be awake after those loud alarms but that face, it's still snoozing. Here's how you can wake up your skin, just in time for that morning video call! 😉
- 10 almonds
- 3 nutmegs
- 2 tbsp of Cuddapah almonds
- 1/2 tsp of saffron
- Fresh aloe vera leaf
- A bowl
Step 1: Crush all the dry fruits ( almonds, nutmegs and the Cuddapah almonds) to make a fine powder.
Step 2: Add saffron to it and keep the mixture in the fridge. This stays fresh for a couple of months. But it's always best if you make it in smaller, weekly batches.
This dry, powdery mixture is perfect for all skin types and can be used by everyone. Now, according to your skin type, choose the next ingredient.
Dry skin: Curd, a few drops of honey.
Oily skin: Curd and two drops of lemon juice.
Sensitive skin: Curd, fresh aloe vera gel.
Step 3: Take a bowl, add one tbsp of the previously prepared mixture and add the ingredients, according to your skin type.
Step 4: Apply a thin layer on your face and wake up your skin, along with making it super happy!
Step 5: Wash after 15 minutes using just water. You can use this as a scrub to lightly exfoliate your skin too, although you might want to skip this step if you have sensitive and active acne on your face.
Wash your face with cold water as soon as you wake up and apply this mask while your laptop starts. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. This will not only rejuvenate your skin instantly but will make your skin feel more alive and fresh with every use.
We bet you're already in DIY mode and mixing ingredients as we speak!
