Buying gifts for your mother-in-law can be one of the hardest things to do, not because she is difficult, but because the pressure is on. Luckily, contrary to popular belief, my mother-in-law is the easiest and the most caring person I’ve ever met. She made sure I never have to mould myself according to their family. I simply adore her not only for bringing my favourite person into this world but also for being a second mother to me. So, I never leave a stone unturned when it comes to making her feel special.
Pamper your mother-in-law with salon or spa retreats. She certainly does deserve some exclusive me-time. Of course, you can make it a party of two and buy vouchers for yourself as well.
Prepare a delicious home-cooked meal with a selection of her favourite ingredients. Trust me, it’s the little things that count and this gesture will surely make her feel special.
Now we all know that mothers usually don’t splurge on themselves. Therefore, this is the perfect opportunity for you to think out of the box and prepare a self-care hamper. Throw in a sleep mask, a relaxing face mask and even scented candles. If your mother-in-law is all for wellness products, try including ayurvedic skincare or health products.
Has she been loaded with official and personal commitments lately? Gift her an experience that she will cherish all her life and will also give her the much-needed time off. Plan a trip for her and her friends to a destination you think she’ll enjoy. You can go a step further and pepper it with little surprises throughout - a champagne brunch, a cake on arrival and a gift in her room.
