When it comes to wedding planning, we understand the struggles of being a bride. Finalising the venue or picking out your wedding lehenga are tough tasks that require neverending planning. And amidst all this work, it is your beauty regime that takes a backseat. Especially, your hair! But don't you worry 'coz we've made a 2-month checklist that's all you need to follow for a shiny, healthy and voluminous mane.
If your wedding day is just eight weeks away, here are seven hair treatments that you can start with right now for picture-perfect luscious hair on your shaadi.
This is the perfect time for a trim. Don't go for a major makeover just weeks before the wedding. If it turns out badly, you won’t have enough time to grow out your hair. A trim is just fine to get rid of dead ends and keep your haircut looking fresh.
If you’re worried about your dry locks, consider getting a Keratin treatment. Used to treat dry frizzy hair, it also gives your locks the bounce and shine. It usually lasts for 6-8 months, which means gorgeous looking hair for Insta-worthy pictures on your honeymoon!
Thinking about colouring your hair before the wedding? Well, now is the time to do it. Generally, it is recommended that - lighter or darker - brides should stay within two shades of their natural hair colour. A last-minute change in colour could go wrong with no time for amendments. So get it done 2 months before the wedding and go for a touch-up a week before, if required.
Colour or no colour, this is the time when you treat your hair with extra love. Either go for a professional deep conditioning treatment or invest in a good hair conditioning mask. The deep conditioning will strengthen and repair your hair so that it regains its natural bounce. You can also opt for some home remedies.
Dandruff can show up due to mysterious reasons and if your dealing with an itchy scalp, it's best to visit your dermatologist right away. In case it's not severe, opt for tried and test home remedies to get rid of dandruff. The olive oil and lemon treatment does wonders if you give it four to six weeks to work its magic. Take 5 to 6 tablespoons of olive oil and mix it with the juice of one lemon. Apply it to your scalp and leave it overnight. Wash it off the next morning and repeat this at least twice a week for great results.
Avocados work like magic when it comes to bringing back the natural shine to your locks. Take an avocado, a banana and half a cup of yoghurt. Blend the ingredients and gently apply all over your scalp and hair. Secure your hair with a thin cotton cloth and leave it overnight. Wash it off the next morning, and tada! Do this once a week and see the change.
A hot oil massage is not only relaxing but also helps improve the health of your hair. Indulge in a hot oil massage twice a week to give your mane the required nourishing. After all, nothing beats a good ol' champi. Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to give yourself a hot oil hair massage at home.
