There are multiple reasons why you have dark circles and some of it is because you either have an iron deficiency, suffer from allergies and hyperpigmentation, aren't getting proper 8-9 hours of pure rest, constantly exposing your skin to sunlight without wearing sunscreen, the list goes on! Since the skin around your eyes is 10 times thinner than the skin on the rest of your face, it's prone to premature ageing. What can you do about it? Well, you can start by tweaking your lifestyle by eating fresh veggies, getting beauty sleep and following a proper skincare routine.
Speaking of a skincare routine, there is one product out there that can do wonders for your undereye area and that is *drum roll* an eye serum. It's an underrated skincare product that deserves a spot in your beauty cabinet. While we do not recommend that you step out of your home to buy one if you don't own one yet. However, you can make it at home with ingredients lying around in your kitchen!
Why coffee? Because it is packed with antioxidant properties that help to plump up the skin, protect it from UV radiation and slows down the ageing process! When teamed with almond oil, it helps to improve the skin's complexion, reduce puffy eyes and brighten the under-eye area.
Here's a tiny list of ingredients that you need to make this amazing coffee eye serum!
Step 1: In a glass jar, add 1/4 cup of coffee powder.
Step 2: Add 7 tbsp of almond oil.
Step 3: Close the jar and leave it in a cool and dry place for a week.
Step 4: Strain the mix and add 1 tablespoon of castor oil.
Step 5: Apply under your eyes at night before sleeping.
Yes, it's that easy as that. The only con is that you have to wait for a week to use the serum. In this case, the wait is worth it. You can also use one of your old serum bottles to store the mix and use the metal roller ball to rub the serum into the undereye area. What you also can do is place the metal roller ball into the fridge and then use it whenever you're applying the serum to the undereye area for a spa-like experience. Now that you have all the time in your hands to try this beauty experiment, what's stopping you from giving it a shot?
