Dolma Aunty Momos
Dolma Aunty Momos is the OG momo place in Delhi, or so they say, and I absolutely love them. After fleeing to Delhi from Tibet, she knew that momos weren’t served at stalls but only in restaurants, so she started her own. She opened her thhela in the busy streets of Lajpat Nagar Central Market and started being fondly called Dolma Aunty’s momos. The reason I love them so much is because they’re fuller and bigger than the average momos so more to eat for me! I always order the chicken momos but live for the spicy, lip-smacking chilly-garlic chutney she serves along with it. Okay, my mouth is watering!

I remember the first time I had momos. I was in class 7 and in Darjeeling. Even though I was not aware of this thing called ‘momo’, I was in love at first bite. It was not such a big thing in Delhi back then but eventually, everyone seemed to be loving it. Now we have a wide variety of momos and they all come in different shapes and flavours. I love them all! My favourite place to order momos in Gurgaon is from Jalsa, Indian & Ladakhi Kitchen. They make the best kothay momos I have ever had. Bonus? They are wheat-based so I can eat them without feeling guilty. Their chutney is the spiciest I have had so far.

Yeti: The Himalayan Kitchen
As the in-house food explorer and suggester at POPxo (who you know all about from the #POPxoNoSpendChallenge), people often come to me asking for recommendations for veg momos, given that more often than not it’s just boiled cabbage that gets delivered. And my answer is Yeti, always. Yeti has the best vegetarian momos in Delhi/NCR! Whether you like them steamed or pan-fried, their portions are big, well-stuffed and always delivered piping-hot. What’s more? They come with three different chutneys for all kinds of spice palettes. Need I go on?

Brown Sugar
I was introduced to Brown Sugar when I started college in 2009, and our love affair has lasted all these years. Their ‘steamos’ or steamed wheat momos continue to be not only the best item on their menu but also some of the best momos I’ve eaten in Delhi. Oh, and their momo chutney is the best part! Plus did I mention they’re healthier because they’re made out of wheat? Okay, I’m gonna stop talking about them and order a plate instead.

Tee Dee
Tee Dee at Majnu Ka Tilla has been my favourite spot to order momos from since college days. Because my college was very close to Majnu Ka Tilla, I was in the middle of all the yumminess.
