We pretty much know everything about all the members of the Pataudi khandan, don’t we? From Sharmila Tagore to Saif Ali Khan to the newest member of the family, Taimur Ali Khan, everyone is pretty much in the news all the time. But there is one member of the royal family who has always stayed away from the limelight. Did you know that Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan have another sibling? Well, Saba Ali Khan is the second child of late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (the titular Nawab of Bhopal) and Sharmila Tagore, and not much is known about her.
Unlike her family members, Saba chose to stay away from Bollywood and is a very successful jewellery designer. Born in 1976 in Mumbai, her family moved to Delhi when she was very young and had made a conscious decision of staying away from the limelight very early on in her life.
Education
After completing her graduation from Delhi College of Arts, she went for a Diploma in Gemmology and Design at the Gemological Institute of America as she wanted to be a jewellery designer.
Career
Saba is a renowned jewellery designer and her forte lies in fusion jewellery. She also came up with her own diamond range and is doing very well as far as her professional life is concerned.
Personal Life
She is 44 years old and chose not to marry unlike her siblings Saif and Soha. She is an independent woman and doing great in her professional life.
In addition to her business, Saba was also named as the custodian of the royal trust of Bhopal after the death of her father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She, as mutawalli of Aukaf-e-Shahi Trust, has to take care of the properties in Bhopal to Saudi Arabia, worth Rs 1000 crore. The Nawab of Pataudi was the mutawalli himself until his death in 2011. While Saba took over as the Chief Trustee of the Bhopal Trust, Saif took over as the Nawab of Pataudi after their father’s death. Saba is also responsible for looking after her mother’s property worth Rs 2700 crore.
Family Is All That Matters!
Saba Ali Khan shares a good rapport with everyone in her family. She is a family person and has always chosen to stay as close as possible to her siblings. Saba also shares a great rapport with bhabhijaan Kareena Kapoor Khan. Saif once requested Saba to design jewellery for Bebo and that’s how the bonding started. As far as Saba’s presence in social gatherings is concerned, she only attends her family functions.
There’s More To Her…
Saba is a movie buff and watches every film that stars her family members. She’s also a person who values her tradition too much. The Khan sibling has been surrounded by clothes with traditional embroideries since her childhood and that’s one of the reasons she got inspired to design jewellery.
Even though she has stayed away from the shutterbugs, but the little that we’ve seen of Saba, we can say that good looks surely run in the family.
