7 Reasons Why Turning 30 Is Actually Pretty Amazing, Don’t Dread It!

Turning 30 can be scary for a lot of people, but the question is, should it really be that daunting? Well, living in a youth-dominated culture, we understand how turning older might haunt some people. We, as humans, are driven to attach ourselves with numbers. We all want a six-figure salary, a huge group of friends, we want to achieve our targets at work and we dread the big 30.

We bet everyone considered turning 10 or turning 20 as a new milestone in their life but entering your 30s is dreaded. Why? Because it means giving up being in your 20s and that’s scary for so many people. Well, turning 30 is not the new 20, but it’s NOT supposed to be!

7 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Panic When Turning 30!

If you begin to enjoy the process of maturing rather than panicking about turning 30, we bet you’ll realise that each phase of your life brings you extraordinary gifts. Here’s a list of seven reasons why turning 30 is actually great!

You will only have your soul-friends around

Do you know a lot of 20-something friendships don’t make it past the massive 3-0? By the time you are 30, a lot of people who don’t connect with you very well will drift away, and that’s actually a good thing. We all have this pressure of having a huge group of friends because that’s the definition of ‘cool’, right? At the age of 30 and above, you will only have friends who are there to stay. You guys have faced so many ups and downs together by this time that they tend to become ‘family you choose’.

You begin to enjoy the ‘Me-time’

We all are too conscious of how we behave and who we are, when in our 20s. But in your thirties, you tend to become more comfortable with who you are as a person. You will love to spend time with yourself and there is nothing to be ashamed about it.

Heartbreaks become your best teachers

Over time, you experience being in all kinds of relationships, and your past relationships help in forming the future ones. Therefore, by the time you are in your early thirties, you would know what you really want in your partner. Think about it!

Your thirties will create a healthier you

Believe it or not, but in our 20s, we are all a little laid back as far as our health is concerned. But as we inch closer to our thirties, we tend to make a few healthy switches to our lifestyle. You make salads a part of your every meal, you try taking out time to exercise and you definitely cut down on the alcohol.

PS: This doesn’t mean that you won’t be having fun anymore, duhhh! You’re just being more responsible while at it.

You are either financially stable or working hard towards it

You may find yourself in a better financial position when you are in your thirties as compared to the 20s. And even if you are not, you tend to become more serious about the future and work towards reaching a certain level of stability. And hey, who doesn’t like to have more money?!

You don’t have to put up with sh*t

By the time you turn 30, you will begin to understand that time is precious. And once you realise that you don’t have time for putting up with crap, you will walk away from people who don’t deserve to be in your life. That also means that you will deal more smartly with unpleasant situations.

You finally feel like an adult!

You will suddenly start to feel like a full-fledged adult by the time you hit your thirties, and therefore, making your own choices and living your life the way you want to will be a simpler thing to do. You will start trusting yourself for making long-term decisions with your money and time.

Your life will always be full of imperfections and flaws but it’s more fun to move forward, make mistakes and welcome life with open arms. Yes, turning 30 is not the new 20, but it’s NOT supposed to be.
