Back To The Basics: 4 Simple Skincare TipsTo Up Your Glow Game

There are four ways to determine whether your skin is healthy or not. Number one, your skin has no pimples, acne or sunspots on its surface. Second is even-toned skin. Third, is smooth texture, and fourth is that beeeautiful glow! While you can use makeup to fake the glow, it won’t help you in the long run. The aim is to help your skin glow naturally. I always believe that proper skin care, diet and exercise go hand in hand. Consume water-rich foods like soups, cucumbers, tomatoes, palak, plain yoghurt, bell peppers, coconut water, berries – these foods will keep your skin supple and hydrated. Next, is obviously skincare.

Following a good CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturising) routine is vital. Once you’re a pro at doing that, you can later treat your skin to fancy treatments such as facial massages, facial oils, serums, face packs or sheet masks. I have put together a super basic skincare routine for you that can be wrapped up in 15 minutes flat! Let’s check it out, shall we?

Basic Skincare Tips To Up Your Glow Game

Let’s begin in 3,2,1…

Cleanse It Like You Mean It

The very first step to getting glowing skin is to master the art of cleansing. Avoid using a regular bar of soap as it will dry your skin out. Invest in a good quality face wash (like our Glow On Girl Egyptian Rose & Honey Face Wash) to clean all the gunk off your skin. Loaded with rose leaves, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, honey, tulsi and fruit extracts, I can assure you that your skin will love every bit of it! Once a week, you can also use our ‘Scrub Me Good Aloe Vera Face Scrub‘ to keep the dead skin cells away.

Packed with the goodness of Rosehip vitamin elixir, the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Foam Cleanser happens to be an equally good choice in the cleanser department. With its coconut-derived goodness, this a mild gel cleanser that moisturises your skin while leaving it soft and supple.

Befriend The Toner

If you’ve never used a toner before and your skin looks and feels healthy, then you may skip this step. However, if that’s not the case, then it’s about time that you include it into your daily skincare routine. Why use a toner, you ask? Simply because they help to remove dirt and makeup residue, of course! They also help to balance the skin’s pH levels and control acne. I really like jojoba milk and oat soothing toner from Pixi. Free from parabens and alcohol, this baby will keep your skin nourished, hydrated and fresh all day long.

I totally swear by the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Toner by MyGlamm as well. Packed with the goodness of hyaluronic acid, it recharges my skin and leaves it with a luminescent glow. You really need to try one, in case, dry, lifeless skin is what you suffer from.

Moisturise! Moisturise! Moisturise!

Once your pores are squeaky clean, you must moisturise! Keeping your skin type in mind, pick a moisturiser wisely. If it’s oily, look for a lightweight product so that it won’t clog your pores. For dry skin, pick a heavy-textured moisturiser that has long-lasting hydrating benefits. Sensitive skin, on the other hand, requires a special kind of moisturiser. One that’s fragrance-free and lightweight. Take our ‘Egyptian White Lotus Face Crème’ for instance. This bad boy will restore skin’s elasticity, improve skin’s texture and keep the skin super nourished. In short, the sheen will be back and you will never have to use selfie filter ever again *Wink*

Looking for some extra nourishment? The GLOW Iridescent Brightening Moisturising Cream by MyGlamm has to be your go-to product! It is enhanced with a hydro crystal complex system that locks in moisture and giving you soft, supple skin. The key ingredient in this product is the Rosehip oil, which comes packed with powerful antioxidants and vitamins and heals and strengthens the skin.

Moisturise! Moisturise! Moisturise!

You need not do slap on a sheet mask every day. Twice or thrice a week is good enough. After a long day of activity, the tiredness starts to show up on your skin. A sheet mask will do your complexion wonders. Pick one that’s designed to make your skin look bright and radiant. The one I’ve recommended has vitamin C as an ingredient. If you keep using this particular one thrice a week for a month, you will start to notice that your skin will become bouncier, firmer and brighter.

Remember ladies, for positive results, this routine is not a one-time thing. Make it a habit and stick to it!
