She is also an advocate of skill development among India’s youth, who she is a bigger believer of than any government scheme. Nirmala is all for the growing startup culture in India and sees them as an innovative solution to fight social problems.

It is because of leaders like her that more and more youngsters are thriving to take up entrepreneurship and prioritising new skills over money. We need more of that, especially in a country India, where people are more and opportunities are few.

Did You Know? Before joining politics, Nirmala worked in the corporate sector for a while.

All India Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra

Twitter

Mahua Moitra’s name has been echoing in India ever since her very first speech as an MP in the Parliament House. The freshman lawmaker sought to reclaim the Opposition’s space in the House by pointing out early signs of fascism and got applauded for her remarkable start. Watch her entire speech here.

The 44-year-old emerged as one of those handful politicians in India who truly care about the progress of the country and is unafraid to call out the Centre. Her confidence and savagery are imprinted on our minds for all the right reasons. On the days when you feel devoid of motivation, you know where to look for it.

Did You Know? During The News Hour debate with Arnab Goswami on Times Now that happened in 2015, Mahua Moitra showed the famous news anchor the finger when he wouldn’t let her answer.

Prime Minister Of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern

Instagram

Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand, serving the office since 26 October 2017. She’s the youngest PM of New Zealand in 150 years, and the youngest female PM, ever.

A devoted member of the Labour Party since the age of 17, Jacinda eventually said yes to leadership. She called out a global fight to root out the racist right-wing ideology. Because of measures like these, she quickly rose to power and was recognised as a leader who believed in reinstating world peace. Recently, her gumption and strong support in the face of the Christchurch calamity made us realise that India needs an equally strong woman in power and we have 10 reasons to support that notion.

Did You Know? Jacinda gave birth in her office and created history by being the first female world leader to bring an infant to the UN General Assembly

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to as AOC is the youngest ever US congresswoman. The 29-year-old is a freshman lawmaker and has taken the world by storm. Once Alexandria starts talking, you never want to stop listening to her. She is an excellent public speaker and a highly influential leader with simple but powerful agendas. She has been particularly vocal in her push for environmental policy in the US to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Former First Lady Of The US, Michelle Obama

Before becoming (pun intended) the first African-American First Lady of the United States during the two terms of former US president Barack Obama, Michelle Obama was a lawyer, a writer, a mom and a role model.

Even after the end of their term, Michelle didn’t stop working as an advocate for poverty awareness, higher education, education among International adolescent girls, physical activity and healthy eating. All her initiatives are focussed towards working with people to serve their communities such as ‘Let’s Move’, which aims to reduce childhood obesity. And that’s what her Instagram boasts of, besides stylish outfits that are an instant mood lifter.

Did You Know? After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1988, Michelle joined the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she met Barack Obama. The rest is history.
