Singer Dhvani Bhanushali’s song Vaaste became a huge hit on YouTube with over 400 million views in the last three months. Dhvani has become a household, or should I say an earhold (if that’s a thing) name for music lovers.
Currently, the singer has been trending all over social media because of her latest song, Psycho Saiyaan from the fantasy-mystery film Saaho. Why? Well, she has sung the song in four regional languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu in the Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas starrer film.
Was an honour working with this dream team! Thank you @TanishkBagchi for always helping me push my limits. #PsychoSaiyaan out now in all 4 languages ♥️https://t.co/bbJQ2RbMpahttps://t.co/XJb4YmlzV0https://t.co/KchHNwpyM9https://t.co/1WJK0rj3LF pic.twitter.com/RYxrurYHuO— Dhvani Bhanushali (@dhvanivinod) July 8, 2019
But lately, it feels like every other song on YouTube is by Dhvani. She is releasing her own albums, playback-singing Bollywood numbers as well as voicing old remixes by the minute. One might say she is the ‘new Neha Kakkar’ who also had a phase in 2018 with almost all of her songs ruling the charts back-to-back.
So, here’s everything you need to know about the rising singing sensation, Dhvani Bhanushali.
Born on June 2nd 1998 in Mumbai, Dhvani is a 21-year-old Indian model-turned-singer. She started singing when she was 13 and participated in her school’s choir group. She has done her schooling from a private school in Mumbai and graduation in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from HR College of Commerce & Economics.
We have reason to believe her father might just be the inspiration behind her grad course in college. Did you know Dhvani is the daughter of Vinod Bhanushali, President of Global Marketing & Media Publishing at T-Series? She also has a younger sister named Diya Bhanushali.
Doesn’t she look like an exact replica of her father?
To pursue singing, Dhvani started her own YouTube channel in 2017. She started doing mashups by clubbing one Hindi and one English song. She rose to fame with her ‘Carpool Mashup’ of Gulabi Aankhen and Shape Of You at the young age of 19.
Soon, she got an opportunity to lend her voice to the song Ishtehaar in Sonakshi Sinha’s 2018 film, Welcome To New York marking her entrance into Bollywood. Since then, there’s been no stopping her. Before this, she also appeared on MTV Unplugged Season 7 where she sang Naina from Khoobsurat directed by Amaal Malik.
It is known that India’s favourite singers Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh are her favourites. Not just that, she aspires to work with the legendary musician AR Rahman someday. Speaking of her aspirations, ‘she wants to be like Beyonce’ - a pop star as well as a songwriter.
You might know she has sung Vaaste and Leja Re, but did you know she is also the voice behind the party anthem of 2018? Yes, we are talking about Nora Fatehi’s Dilbar from Satyameva Jeyate! Even we thought it was by Neha Kakkar.
Here are some Bollywood songs other than Psycho Saiyaan, Dilbar and Ishtehaar by Dhvani you probably had no idea were actually sung by the young artist:
Duniyaa, Luka Chuppi
Mukhada Vekh Ke, De De Pyaar De
Veere, Veere Di Wedding
She also collaborated with the Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa for Ishare Tere, and most recently with rapper Badshah for Koka, a party song in Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming film Khandaani Shafakhana. Wow!
You will find plenty of pictures of Dhvani with her pet dog Leo proving she’s ‘Team Doggo’ all the way. Have a look at some of their adorable pictures together:
Dhvani’s fashion game is super trendy and we know why. The singer loves Zara! We have spotted so many stylish clothing items from the brand on Dhvani in her posts that it’s safe to say we have this thing in common.
Zara, uniting people and how!
Other than music and Leo, it is known that Dhvani loves travelling and dancing too. In her music videos, she is often seen dancing to funky choreographies. Go back and watch her albums, you will know what we mean.
