Remember that the Sula Fest always happens sometime in February. These guys have been around for more than a decade and with every passing year, the fest gets better. It’s a place where you can eat, shop and drink at the same time! Let’s say that your friend is not a wine person but you enjoy their company, you can bring them along too because, at Sula, they also serve beer and other spirits. For stay - you can either choose to camp at the vineyards or stay at any of nearby hotels such as Ibis, Ginger, Taj, Formule1, Express Inn. These places are all just 30-45 mins away from the venue.

The Great Grover Wine Fest

I love Bangalore for its climate and chilled lifestyle but Bangalore also has a variety of breweries and gourmet food restaurants. Lately, Bangalore has also come to be known for its wine festival - The Great Grover Wine Fest that takes places every February. While it may not be as old and popular as the Sula Fest, I think it’s about time it became a tourist activity. You can give grape-treading a shot, dance to groovy beats and admire displays of art. I heard that you can do Karaoke, be part of stand-up comedy and munch on the tastiest of treats!

When to visit: February

Address: Jer Mansion, B-12, V.P.WARDE MARG, Bandra West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400050

Bandra Wine Festival

Mumbaikars, rejoice! This festival happens right in the heart of Bombay. It’s a two-day festival and takes place every November. When it comes to wine, you get to taste the best of both worlds here. Local or international wine, you will be spoiled for choice. Also guys, the same folks who host this festival, organize the Pune Wine Festival too - I bet you did not know that! Apart from the wine, they also have art galleries and amazing food stalls to check out.

When to visit: November

Address: D'Monte Park Recreation Centre, D'Monte Park Road,

Bandra(w), Mumbai 400050.

Taj Wine Festival

The Taj Wine Festival is really selective about its guests. If you do get an invitation, I suggest that you attend it by all means. You get to taste premium, exquisite and rare wines from all around the world. This festival usually takes place in Delhi. It’s a lot of fun, you can explore the vineyards and attend a masterclass among other things. There’s a black-tie event at the end, so, please dress your best!

The Cherry Blossom Festival

You don’t have to travel to Japan or South Korea to admire the cherry blossoms, they’re there in our country too! Around November, you can spot them in full bloom in Shillong. There are around 3000 cherry blossom trees and the wine fest is quite a surreal experience. In fact, the wines are special - they’re made from locally grown plums and blackberries. After grabbing your glass of wine, you can attend rock concerts, archery contests and bicycle rallies.

When to visit: November

Address: Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, Shillong

The Grape Escapade

The festival usually takes place in Panaji. Just like any wine festival, you can drink, eat and enjoy the musical vibe out there. This place has some stunning interiors that are very Insta-friendly. This fest too like most others, takes place in February and is organized by the Goan Tourism Development Corporation. It’s a four-day festival and it promises to be super, duper fun!

When to visit: February

Address: Bhausaheb Dayanand Bandodkar Ground

If I’m missing out on any other wine festival in India, please mention it in the comment section! I love new recommendations. Cheers, guys!
