While scripted romances are entertaining to watch, it is the real-life B-town love stories that have an impact on me. My latest crush is the power couple, Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora. I’ve been following their relationship and the duo have managed to restore my faith in love.

They Make Us Realise What True Love *Really* Means
‘Love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance’ and this is exactly what this amazing couple proved. Despite their age difference, personal circumstances or unpreparedness for media trolls, they took a leap of faith and jumped – and gave their love a chance.
They Took Their Time Before They Made It ‘Official’
As dinner dates, parties and public appearances became a regular affair, so did the speculations about their relationship. Time and again, they were asked the same question. But this awesome couple remained solid and did not give in to the hungry media curiosity! In fact, in an interview with a publication, Arjun said, “I would like to talk about it as time unfolds rather than jumping the gun.”
They Break Our Society’s Regressive Stereotypes
When their 12-year age gap was mentioned in an interview, Malaika gave a savage reply – “The age difference doesn’t really pop up when you are in a relationship. It is about two minds and hearts connecting. Unfortunately, we live in a society that refuses to progress with time. An older man romancing a younger girl is hailed everywhere, but when the woman is older, she’s called ‘desperate’ and a ‘buddhi’. For people who think like this, I have just one line: Take a flying f***.” Arjun, on the other hand, said, “I wouldn’t even want to speak about this and give it importance. It doesn’t matter to me, so I don’t want to justify anything.” Well done, you guys!
They “Understand” Each Other
In an interaction with a leading publication, Malaika couldn’t stop blushing as she revealed what *really* attracted her to Arjun. She said, “It’s difficult to find someone who understands you. Arjun understands me. He makes me smile and laugh and he knows me inside out. I guess that just makes everything work.” On the other hand, Arjun, on his last birthday had confessed that Malaika has his heart in such a cute way that we couldn’t help but go “Awww.”
Despite The Public Negativity, They Stuck By Each Other
As far as hardships go, this couple faced more in two years than most face in several years. Apart from reading the nastiest of comments about their age gap, they are consistently backlashed, trolled and made fun of by insensitive humans who misuse the limitless power of social media. In fact, someone also came down on Arjun’s family on Twitter and compared his father’s relationship to his own (to which he gave a befitting reply). But despite the negative trolls, he and Malaika refused to give up on each other and today, they are going stronger than ever.
They Gave Love *Another* Chance
It was around two years ago when Malaika and Arbaz Khan ended their 18-year marriage. When asked about the same, she revealed, “When my marriage ended, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be in another relationship and was scared of being heartbroken. But I also wanted to be in love, nurture a relationship, and this new me gave me the confidence to put myself out there and take a chance. I am so glad I did.” When talked about Arjun, she further admitted, “I guess everyone wants to move on and find love and companionship with people they can relate to. And if you do, I think you are just lucky. If you can do that, I think you are lucky to find that second chance at being happy.”
Their Social Media PDA Is Way Too Adorable
Mallu and Arjun never shy away from leaving fun and interesting comments on each other’s pictures and posts. While some comments express just how crazy they are about each other, the others reveal their happy-go-lucky relationship. Now, isn’t that cute?
Their Romantic Holidays Give Us #LoveGoals
This awesome couple makes sure they go on romantic vacations every chance they get. While in October 2018 they flew to Milan to celebrate Malaika’s birthday, this year in June, the couple jetted off on a romantic holiday to Tribeca, New York for Arjun’s birthday. In fact, they were also seen returning from the Maldives in April! We say, a couple that travels together, stays together!
