Stressed At Work? Adding These 9 Activities To Your Daily Routine Will Make You Happier

For most of us, work can be super stressful. There is no denying the fact that we're all a part of this rat race. In this dog-eat-dog world, we have to bring our A game to the office every day to ensure that our work is noticed and to prove that we're capable of achieving more. But, with this amount of work comes an equal amount of stress. You can't help but feel pressured when you're constantly trying to achieve one goal after another.

Stress relief becomes even more important in this scenario. You need to calm down and unwind after a long day at work to ensure you're in the best shape mentally. So here are a few activities you can do every day to ensure that you're managing all that strain of work effortlessly.

1. Take A Long Bath

This one is a no-brainer. Fill up the tub with hot (or warm, depending upon your preference) water and add some bath salts to it. You could even light a few scented candles to help with the stress. 2. Work It Out

In addition, working out reduces the amount of cortisol in your body - the hormone responsible for stress. That's it, that's all the reason you need to work out.

3. Laugh 

It's as simple as that. Put on a comedy series or a stand-up show and just laugh to your heart's content! It'll not only relieve the tension in your body and muscles, but it'll also boost your immune system in the long run.

4. Write Your Thoughts

Writing your thoughts down can be therapeutic and an outlet for your emotions. If you're not able to tell a person what you're feeling, write it down and then burn the paper to release your emotions. You'll instantly feel better.

5. Chew Gum

6. Spend Time With Your Loved Ones

Also, hanging out with your pets will release oxytocin, a hormone responsible for love and bonding.

7. Read A Good Book

8. Say No

Saying no is amazingly therapeutic. When you're unable to say no, you end up with more on your plate than you can handle. This just adds to the stress and you won't be able to do even the tasks you're actually good at. So say no if it's beyond your capacity, nobody will judge you for it. Being able to stand up for yourself is an extremely positive trait.

9. Cuddle

Studies have shown that positive physical contact can greatly reduce stress. So, cuddle, kiss and have sex with bae after an extremely tough day at work. This physical contact can release oxytocin and reduce cortisol, putting you in a better mood immediately.
