Nourish Your Scalp

No matter what you read about taking care of your hair via supplements or new-age beauty procedures, nothing beats the age-old formula of oiling your hair every now and then. The oils not only moisturise your scalp but also keep the frizz away. If you have a dry scalp that's causing dandruff, flaking and itching, oiling your scalp is a great way to keep the dryness at bay. You need not keep your hair oiled at all times; massage your scalp approximately an hour before you are supposed to wash it, and you will see the difference in a few weeks. Coconut oil, almond oil and olive oil are few options to begin with.

Wash Your Hair Regularly

It is important to understand that your hair attracts a lot of dust and dirt in general, making it absolutely necessary that you wash it off, along with the dead skin accumulated on your scalp. 'Regular' washing, however, varies from person to person. For someone with a dry scalp and another person with a greasy one, how often hair should be washed will differ, but in any case, it doesn't have to be every day. People with different hair types and textures, depending on their ethnicity, will have varied needs, as a health column by Columbia University suggests. To keep it safe, make sure that you wash your hair 2 or 3 times a week, depending on how frequently it gets greasy. You may also consult your hairstylist if the confusion persists.

Avoid Hot Water

You will probably already be aware that hot water damages the scalp and removes the natural oils that it houses. And that means what? Just that you ought to skip those super hot showers and give the hot bath a miss. You can always wrap your hair up and use a shower cap if a hot shower is absolutely necessary. It is always recommended that you use lukewarm water as opposed to scalding, hot water.

Leave The Towel Behind

We may have been taught to diligently rub our hair dry with that towel that's a household staple, but it will do your mane more harm than good. Ditch the towel with that rugged fabric and go for a single jersey or cotton t-shirt to wrap your hair into. Your hair and you, by extension, will end up happier!

Air Dry Your Hair

Blow drying may be all the rage, but nothing beats the natural appeal of air-dried hair. After washing your hair, wrap it in a t-shirt for about 10 minutes and allow it to air dry. In summers, your hair will typically take about an hour or two to dry, naturally.

Use A Serum For The Frizz

A good serum will help keep your hair smooth, shiny and frizz free while keeping split ends at arm's length. On top of everything, your hair is bound to smell amazing! A serum makes your hair a lot more manageable come summer or winter. If you have coloured hair, a good hair serum will protect your hair and ensure that your colour lasts longer!

Tie Your Hair Up

While you are travelling, out for a walk or simply lounging around, the best way to get frizz-free hair is to tie it up in a bun. Not only will it keep you comfortable in the rising heat, but it will also keep the frizziness at bay. All you gotta do it tie it up while you are on the go so that it's ready to be flaunted whenever required.
