Our beloved Ram-Leela, Deepika and Ranveer got married last month in Lake Como, Italy. While their wedding was an extremely private affair with only the closest friends and family in attendance, they hosted three receptions and a party for their guests in India. To say that Deepika looked like a real-life Mastani would be an understatement. Praising the global beauty, fans of the actress have taken to social media hailing Deepika as the #WorldsMostBeautifulBride. Not only did she bowl us over with her charm, but she also gave the 2019 brides-to-be a comprehensive lookbook for all their wedding functions!
When the mehendi pictures first came out, I couldn't help but notice how serene and calm Deepika looked. In the picture of her dancing, love, contentment and peace are evident on her face. She, for this ceremony, wore a heavily embroidered Sabyasachi pink suit with two dupattas - one complementing her suit and one in maroon with a contrasting gold border. She accessorised her look with a traditional sat lada with danglers. Her best accessory though was the lit-from-within glow!
For her Konkani wedding, Deepika followed tradition and wore a saree gifted by her mom. The pure gold zari Kanjeevaram brocade silk saree with Gandaberunda (two-headed bird) motif was bought by the actress and her mom from Angadi Galleria in Bangalore. The veil for the saree though was added by Sabyasachi. Her jewellery mirrored her love for heritage as she wore kappu style bracelets, a matha patti and a jadau necklace set.
Wearing a traditional red Sabyasachi matka silk lehenga for her Anand Karaj and walking under a phoolo ki chaddar, Deepika looked resplendent. With 'sada saubhagyawati bhava' embroidered on her dupatta, she looked like love personified on the day! As a Bhavnani bahu, she wore a heavy polki jadau necklace with matching earrings and maang tikka along with polki rings in each finger. In my opinion, that was such a refreshing change from the regular haathphool that most brides wear!
Deepika chose to go the silk saree way this time as well. As with the Konkani wedding, Deepika chose a pure gold zari Kanjeevaram from The House of Angadi. She contrasted her saree with a Sabyasachi jewellery set with Zambian emeralds, kadas and rings. I had no idea that green and gold could look so majestic. Total goals right here!
When Ranveer described Deepika as 'Frida Kahlo on acid' he was right 'coz we were tripping over her look. She chose a statement floral red and pink embroidered lehenga from Sabyasachi's latest collection. The highlights of the look, though, were her Frida-inspired braided bun with rose blooms and the edgy kangans she wore with the chooda.
Deepika's media reception look is the reason why 'Bajirao ne Mastani se mohabbat ki hai, ayyashi nahi'. Looking like a blue-blooded royalty, Deepika wore an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ivory and gold chikankari ensemble with a veil as long as our list of things we wanted to steal from her wedding! The jewellery was designed by the duo as well and her red sindoor added a pop of colour to the look. Pure, unadulterated love!
Deepika looked like a goddess on the last wedding party in a custom Zuhair Murad bright red embellished gown. Legs for days, anyone? With sexy nude lips, sparkly eyes and a middle-parted open, wavy hairstyle, we felt like Deepika had killed us and we were in heaven. How does this lady slay so hard, every time?
P.S. Did you see all the videos of the bride in sneakers dancing her heart out? Whatta (bride)chilla!
