I'm not very responsible when it comes to sticking to a hair care routine. Most experts suggest we give ourselves a scalp massage at least twice a week but that rarely happens given how hectic life can be. It was only after my hair started falling and I spotted dandruff on my roots did I realise that sh*t just got real!
The last time I oiled my hair was a month ago at a salon. A hot oil massage followed by a green tea rinse- it was a good day for my curly locks. After that, life happened. I got busy with work and I neglected my hair for a month. With the rains, pollution in the air and stress, my hair started to become really dry. Instead of oiling it, I washed my mane quite often. This didn't help either. On the contrary, it worsened my condition.
I started losing more hair than usual. My dandruff doubled and that it itself was really embarrassing. I tried every homemade pack, but no luck. My scalp had gotten itchy and I was leaving a hair trail everywhere I went.
To put an end to excessive hairfall, I eliminated my fancy hair shampoos and conditioners. I'm on break from using them and I realised a change in my hair's texture. It's not a drastic one, but there was an improvement for sure.
The volume is back and the texture from rough has gotten smooth again. Yet, the problem of hairfall and dandruff did not go away.
The only time I saw a drastic change was after regularly oiling my hair. It's such a small step to haircare, but has the strongest impact!
