The multifaceted man was a poet, a writer and an admirer of fine art and music. He had been in the hospital since June 11, 2018, fighting with his illness.

The last time BJP won the hearts of Indians, it was because of this celebrated patriarch. He coined the slogan ‘Jai Jawaan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan’ and promoted scientific spirit including technology. Here are a few more facts about the ex-prime minister of India that you must know.

1. Atal Bihari Vajpayee has served a jail time during 1942 for participating in the freedom struggle.

Rest in peace, honourable former prime minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
