R.I.P Naked Palette: Urban Decay Is Having A Funeral & You're Invited

R.I.P Naked Palette: Urban Decay Is Having A Funeral & You're Invited

There are many women out there who would kill to get their hands on an Urban Decay Naked Palette! I was one of them. No dupe can ever come close to a palette as perfect as this one. When I first got the news that Urban Decay is discontinuing their iconic Naked Palette, I was devastated! I literally have so many memories with this palette. It's my most prized possession and I only take it out when I have a big party or a fancy work event to go to! Urban Decay also pushed out a short clip yesterday to prove these rumours to be true.

The original palette comes with 12 neutral tones in shimmer and matte finishes. Around 30 million of them were sold globally. This palette is a cult beauty product for every makeup maven I know! The only silver line on this gloomy cloud is that for the last time, you can get the Naked Palette for not 54$ (Rs 3,770), but for 27$ (Rs 1,893) on Sephora

If you or you have a friend living in California, head to Newport Beach to pay your last respects to the palette. There's a real funeral taking place and influencers like Katy DeGroot, Kandee Johnson, Christen Domonique, Chrisspy and Shayla Mitchell will be present. Not to mention that they're ending the ceremony with a performance by Nicole Riche.

Before saying R.I.P, a few of my colleagues wanted to express their condolences to the palette as well. Here's what they had to say!

Urban Decay's OG Naked Palette was my first tryst with eyeshadow. I wasn't big on the whole makeup thing yet, but I still wanted to do something. I asked my aunt to get me an eyeshadow palette and she brought me this one from the US. For a beginner like me, this palette was a godsend. The product blended like a dream and it had every colour you'd need for a subtle look and a heavy smokey eye. If there was one eyeshadow palette that I might have recommended the most, it would be this one. - Kannagi Desai, Junior Beauty Editor.

The first time I used the Naked palette my brother had gifted it to me because I barely knew how to do even a basic gold eye look. So I would sit in front of the mirror and step by step follow any makeup tutorial and try to come up with something half-decent. When I started playing around with more makeup I realised the difference between Urban Decay and any other brand. I've never used a black so black that it can beat even a gel liner. And I've also never used eyeshadows that are so pigmented and glittery but without fall out. I tried my first ever smokey eye with those colours (didn't turn out too great, but I was proud anyway). - Anandita Malhotra, Senior Lifestyle Writer.

I'm not going to be mourning the lack of an eyeshadow palette because I'm not into eyeshadow. But the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is one of my holy grail products. If the brand decides to stop making that, I will definitely cry for a few weeks and look tired and sleepless! Actually, I might just buy 10 backup concealers and 10 backups for my backups! But hey for all your Naked Palette lovers, I'm sure the brand has something new on the horizon. Stay tuned! - Nidhi Kavle, Senior Beauty Writer.
