If you've grown up watching Bollywood movies, you're well acquainted with the iconic 'kaidee' i.e, prisoner uniforms, aren't you? Black and white with bold stripes running vertically down the length of the designated 'jail' look, the tunic and pants have taken a rather pleasant avatar in the 21st century thanks to Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi star, Sonakshi Sinha.
With the sequel to comic hit Happy Bhag Jayegi being released at the end of this month, the promotions are in full swing. Sonakshi's newest ensemble for the promotion is giving us jail vibes and we wouldn't mind being convicted if there's more where Sona's look came from!
Sinha looked sophisticated in an Indian fusion outfit by Ikai by Ragini Ahuja. The co-ordinated look consisted of a sheer white kimono-style kurta and white pants. While the relaxed fit pants were a solid white, the kurta featured a distinct black border and tribal print just on the cuffs. Love.
Accompanying her clothing was a pair of blue ankle-strap block heels, which Sonakshi later swapped for all-white trainers. The millennial fashion girl in me knows the outfit looked even cooler post the shoe swap. It's true!
We want this look for so many reasons. Not only does Sonakshi's casual ensemble look edgy and chic, it also looks pyjamas-level comfy. Especially in the blistering and humid Indian summer, this kurta and pants combination seems like a godsent.
Now, could you blame us if we just watched a prisoner like Sonakshi run away in broad daylight?
