I don’t know about you guys but my all birthday presents, when I was a kid, were always wrapped in this glossy red wrapping sheet. People used to buy them in bulk and they were everywhere! The sight of those tiny little sparkly specks all over made it feel like Christmas, no matter what time of the year it was.
Last night, Instagram hit me with a healthy dose of nostalgia by showering pictures of Bollywood cutie, Alia Bhatt, in brilliant glossy red.
She does look like a fabulously wrapped present, right? And no, it was NOT for Alia’s boyfriend and Brahmastra co-star, Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia’s choice of outfit for a fashion show last night was a slinky red dress with a mid-riff cut-out and flirty asymmetric hemline that fell in ruffles. The details make this Prabal Gurung dress what it is – the tiered skirt, the cape style bodice and the satin lining that’s just about visible.
This scrumptious shade of cherry red fits Alia really well and is just the right amount of naughty, isn’t it? Alia’s toned midriff and equally toned thighs steal the show thanks to her outfit.
P.S. Look at the back of the dress. Phew!
We’re also overjoyed to see how Alia nailed her accessories for the night. Miss Bhatt let her sensational dress occupy the limelight by choosing clear ankle-strap heels and absolutely nothing else. No earrings, no necklace – only a couple of midi rings and the shoes.
She didn’t go big on her makeup either – we classify it as a ‘no makeup’ makeup look – or on her hairdo. The fact that Alia Bhatt kept it simple with a centre-part low ponytail shows us that the 25-year-old has come a long way!
Or maybe it’s just the positive effect of her boo Ranbir Kapoor being around? Too bad he wasn’t there to see for himself! Better luck next time, RK.
