Have you ever seen a carved pencil tip? We just found out about the art! Russian artist Salavat Fidai is giving us some serious inspiration with his amazing work. The man uses a microscope and a crafting knife to carve tiny, detailed sculptures on the graphite tips of pencils. We are mesmerised by his miniature sculptures ever since we spotted him on our feed!
“Graphite is a very fragile material and the sculptures are exceedingly small,” Salavat told Instagram. The artist quit his 25-year-long law career in 2013 to become an artist. “Pencil carving is an extremely intense and time-consuming process - one sculpture may take up to 12 hours. I usually spend one or two days crafting each object," he added.
Have a look at some of his work and you'll definitely be wowed!
