The first trailer of Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy starer Gold came out a week ago. But forget Akshay, we still get over how perfect is Roy for the role of Mrs Das (Akshay Kumar’s wife) in the film. Not only is Mouni playing a Bengali woman for the first time in her acting career, Gold is also her debut into Bollywood.

The film traces the ‘golden era’ of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das (played by Akshay Kumar), a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent India. The film is based on the first-ever hockey medal that India won after Independence. Inspired by true events, the film is set to release around Independence Day this year.
