The #GoCheetaGetBattata wedding was just a little too cute for words. The talented Masaan actress Shweta Tripathi married the love of her life Chaitnya Sharma in a stunning Goan wedding. The rainy and fun-filled environment had us all swaying along with the happy couple as they tied the knot. Everything about the wedding was unconventional, from the crazy pyjama party to the bride's lehenga.
Shweta wore an ensemble from Papa Don't Preach by Shubhika for her D-day and boy did she look stunning. She chose a pink skirt with a cream blouse and a blue chunni, yep we love a good contrast. The entire look was pulled together with floral patterns and gold motifs. WOW!
Congratulations to the luckiest boy for getting to marry the CUTEST heart eva ! Thank you for making us a part of your happiest memory @battatawada 🤗 PS: must read their story 😍👇🏻 Repost “We performed in a play together - that’s how we met. But, I didn’t think of him as anything more than just my co-actor at the time. After it was over, we caught a flight to Bombay together, spending those two hours talking non-stop -- realizing that we were were both certified and ‘certifiably’ crazy divers! And I landed in Bombay knowing that I had found my new best friend. We went from messenger, to whatsapp to finally hanging out, before we decided to date. But even before that, I told him I needed to be asked out on a roller coaster. He didn’t question my weirdness - he just took me to an amusement park, made me sit on one and waited for it to go down before he asked me out! My response wasn’t a ‘yes’ or ‘no’- it was a screaming ‘aaaaahhh!’ It’s been five years of adventures since. He’s the kind of person who accepts and enhances my craziness. I don’t think I’ve done so much ‘keeda’ in front of anyone, as much as I do with him. I remember once, when I had missed out on my dream project -- I secretly cried in the bathroom.. not wanting to look like a mess. And, when he saw me, he asked ‘were you crying?’ to which I simply nodded. Then he asked ‘Do you wanna cry some more?’ I just nodded again - so, he just squeezed me in his arms while I did. He gets me. And that’s the best part about our relationship…I’m more ‘me’ with him, than I even am with myself. Recently, he told me that he had a play going on at a club, so I went to support him. Turns out, he’d called all our friends and family to surprise me! The stage was where our story began, and it was where we would begin our next chapter. So he called me up and rapped his proposal to me! He said ‘In gujju - she's my Happy-nays!’ He makes me so happy, which was all I wanted to be since I was l was little - not a doctor, not a lawyer, not a wife or an actor.. just happy. And this is it - Absolute ‘happy-nays.’
If you loved this look, we bet you're going to go crazy for these 7 items we've selected from the Papa Don't Preach by Shubhika collection that are perfect for the bride who is anything but basic. Fun and quirky, it's all the inspiration that a 2018 bride needs!
.. and overnight an intricate filigree forest sprouted from her elbows twined up her hands bloomed about her fingertips Her palm was a garden the colour and fragrance of the earth after rains .. - Sharanya Haridas #mehendi in Papa Don’t Preach Bride : Sunshine yellow raw silk waist embellished lehenga , cutwork choli with a beaded choker dupatta Available at : @jasminenikaza , London Shot by : @jai_shah_photography #sheslikearibbonaroundabomb #thatpapadontpreachgirl #papadontpreachbridalcouture
This lehenga is perfect for a day function like a mehendi or a spunky sangeet. The yellow in the outfit makes it bright and happy and the pink and blue hues add an extra something to the whole look. And the plus point is that it's light and you don't have to be dying under the weight of a 20 kilos dress.
When the wow is worth the wait!!! @kiaraaliaadvani missed you long time ya!! ⚡️💗⚡️......... Repost @kiaraaliaadvani - Kick starting the first wedding of the year in my absolute favourite designer @papadontpreachbyshubhika ✨
Mixing up western and Indian wear is becoming a massive style statement, so who said you can't wear a jumpsuit for a wedding. This blue and gold piece from the collection is flattering and easy to carry off. No dupatta or skirt to worry about, just one outfit and you're good to go. The colour makes it wearable both during the day as well as the night for an Indo-western function!
Weekend that was 🔥 Repost : POP xo’s sweetheart Roshni Bhatia a.k.a @thebigfuzzyglove : This one from @papadontpreachbyshubhika was #lit AF 💫💫#fashiongram #saree #love #weddings #BlackAndGold #thatpapadontpreachgirl #thepapadontpreachsaree #sheslikearibbonaroundabomb
We couldn't do an article on Papa Don't Preach By Shubhika and not put in their signature sarees, now could we!? You can never go wrong with black and gold for an Indian function.
When we look at this off-beat ensemble we're screaming for it to be in our closet! It's a pastel pink sharara paired with a blush half jacket that also features a cutesy bow. The outfit does all the talking and it's just what you need to be the Instagram famous bride!
There's something so fresh about this outfit. Dhoti pants have always been our favourite but this bold and eccentric take on the style makes it even better. You can probably chuck the traditional yellow and opt for this for your haldi function, what say?!
The fit, the drape and the flow make this an ideal look for a curvy bride. Fitting in all the right places, dazzle at your wedding reception or cocktail party with this grey jacket-gown. Oh and don't forget to do that twirl in this beauty, we bet it'll be one to remember!
One of our faves from Shubhika's collection is this lehenga worn by Kiara Advani. It's an ivory piece but full of myriad, fun hues. Gold embellishments, pink ribbon detailing and floral patterns makes this one a truly one in a million ensemble. For the happy, quirky bride who is anything but mainstream, this one is THE one!
So hey, do you dare to go crazy!? ☺
