Dotted For Your Pleasure: Bollywood Does Contrasting Bindis!

Dotted For Your Pleasure: Bollywood Does Contrasting Bindis!

I just got married last month and I’m in that phase where most things are about shaadis. Meaning I’m still following #indianweddings and #indianbrides on Instagram and I’m still contemplating if Banarasi silk would have been a better choice for my engagement lehenga (it would have been). I’ve also been attending more weddings than I ever have meaning I have to think a lot more about ethnic looks.

I was browsing my Instagram this morning and was busy stocking all Bollywood celebrities who attended Poorna Patel’s wedding when I noticed something.

Most of them were wearing contrasting bindis with their outfits.

Now, we all know the last time we spoke about bindis was when Deepika Padukone’s look for Padmaavat had come out but I’ve been a long believer of keeping things traditional when wearing traditional ensemble.

…and I couldn’t take my eyes off her face. In fact, it brings out the makeup a bit more. A black bindi is one of the subtlest colours and can be worn with everyday kurtis too.

2. Sonakshi Sinha wore the staple transparent bindi with her mint green and orange outfits…

and it made the colours pop even more.

The Dabangg actor made the most of her fiery sharara by Arpita Mehta and green anarkali by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. This is not only the easiest bindi to find in the market but also the most versatile bindi. The only problem is it falls every 15 minutes so carry 1-2 with you and put it on right before you click a selfie.

I’m definitely trying this bindi hack the next time I have to attend a wedding. I’m sure you’re attending one this week, so let me know how it goes…
