It’s been the year of weddings in tinsel town with one after the other celebs tying the knot. Through this joyous time, stars obviously brought their A-game when it came to outfits and ensembles and boy did they look glam bam yes ma’am!
However, it was one glittery trend that caught our attention. Many divas chose the classic gold for their wedding guest looks and guys this trend is one you can totally take inspiration from. Shimmer shimmer on a desi wedding is always a good way to go!
1. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt wore this sparkling Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga on Shloka and Akash Ambani’s engagement party and shone like the star she is. In the designer’s signature fashion the outfit was heavily embellished and the Raazi actor carried it off like a pro. The skirt and choli were the main attractions and so the sheer dupatta gave a nice contrast. Alia kept the makeup on the down low so as to not steal from the ensemble- nude lips and kohl eyes, oh yes!
2. Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked ethereal (as always) in a heavily embellished gold saree for the Ambani engagement. The Manish Malhotra creation made her dazzle at night and catch all the eyes. The antique look along with the detailed work gave a regal feel and Ash carried it off effortlessly.
3. Kareena Kapoor
Another B-town diva who chose a golden Manish Malhotra saree was Kareena Kapoor Khan who wore it at the #EverydayPhenomenal Sonam-Anand’s wedding reception. She went for a softer shade of pink during the day but took the glam quotient to a hundred degrees in this twinkly ensemble at night. This fully sequined piece with a net pallu looked fab especially and Bebo clearly stood out that night.
4. Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani looked like a golden Goddess in this Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga for Shloka and Akash’s engagement. The skirt boasted of floral motifs and the choli was a cut-out design with gold and white mirror work on it. The look was tied together with a sheer dupatta with a thick border so as to not take away from the ensemble. The Lust Stories actor finished the look with peachy lipstick along with a subtle smokey eye, kundan bangles and chandbaalis.
5. Rekha
Rekha chose to go the classic and never out of fashion route with this kanjeevaram silk saree. The cream ensemble with the thick gold border showcased the rich heritage she was trying to promote. She teamed it up with a full-sleeves golden blouse and a layered necklace along with dangling earrings. To top off that old-school charm she even put on a gajra and WOW!
6. Rani Mukherjee
Rani Mukherjee also wore a golden anarkali for the star-studded Ambani sagai and topped it off with a gold sheer sequin dupatta. She went with bold red lips and golden bejewelled heels and shone brightly.
7. Dia Bhupal
Designer and heiress Shriya Bhupal recently got married and on the occasion sister-in-law, Dia Bhupal chose to wear a golden saree. She accessorised the look with a statement diamond and emerald necklace along with matching earrings. For her makeup, she kept the focus on her eyes with black kohl and eyeliner and kept the lips a cool toned brown. (Also, I spy with my little eye a not so little ring on her finger!)
8. Shloka Mehta
The bride-to-be herself wore a full golden lehenga for her pre-engagement function and boy did she look stunning. She represented couturiers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla in a heavily embroidered piece. The look was teamed with a statement diamond neck piece along with chandelier earrings and a maang tikka. She even wore a kamar bandh with diamonds, rubies and emeralds to accentuate her waistline.
So shimmy-shimmy in gold this shaadi season, hell yeah!
