This Instagram Bride Just Gave Us The *Floral* Mehendi Lehenga Of Our Dreams!

They had never planned what they wanted their wedding to be like. They did not even realise what a dream wedding is until their fairytale moment actually arrived. And when D-Day finally came, they were both left stunned and mesmerized by the beauty and grandeur of it all. Not everyone is this lucky, but we’re glad Dhvani and Samarth got a wedding of their dreams, without even thinking about it.

In the words of the bride, Dhvani herself:

“Both Samarth and I wanted an intimate wedding in the company of our closest friends and family, and that is exactly what we got. I don’t think either of us are the ‘dream wedding’ types or had an exact idea of what our wedding should be like. That said, this definitely was more than what we could have asked for. This will forever be right on top of our favourite memories.”

Yes, we know what you must be thinking at this point. It’s not really necessary to have a grand wedding for it to be memorable and you’re right. But what made this Mumbai wedding special was not its lavishness, but the pure emotions and laughter that is so beautifully captured by WhatKnot Wedding Photography. Everything right ffromthe venues, to the decor to the couple’s outfits scream elegance and class. Here:

The colourful mehendi ceremony was held at Jade Gardens, Worli and the decor was done up so beautifully, we can’t even. The theme for the ceremony was punjabi mela and thus the decor was done keeping that in mind. The bangles used in the decor were quite an interesting touch, as were the vibrant pinwheels and genda phools. The dholwalas were specially flown down to Mumbai from Delhi. Now that’s some serious wedding planning right there. This is what Dhvani had to say about the decor:

“Keeping our venues in mind, we kept our decor colourful for the mehendi, but still elegant and understated. The wedding decor was all pastels though.”

Now coming to the outfits and the look. The gorgeous bride opted for a bright yellow and turquoise Anushree Reddy lehenga and her look complemented the decor very well. Samarth also incidentally opted for a yellow sherwani which synced well with both Dhvani’s lehenga and the colour scheme of the ceremony. Here is what Dhvani had to say about it:

“For my mehendi look, I chose a floral Anushree Reddy lehenga and opted for a toga, instead of a dupatta, to add that element of ease and fun. Samarth’s outfits were classic and it literally took him all of three days to finalise his looks. His mehendi oufit was from Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and ironically complemented my outfit perfectly, even though we dint intend to do so.”

Well, this is what we call telepathy! Before we start getting all mushy and deviate from the topic, let’s get back to Dhavni’s mehendi look. Her makeup and hair were done by Disha Karia. So elegant and so pretty! Here are some more mehendi pictures:

And now moving on to the D-Day. Held at NSCI Mumbai, this event was another level of khoobsurti all together, no kidding! Gujarati brides traditionally wear white and red lehengas on their wedding day. Our beautiful Dhvani took it up a notch and opted for a classy and intricate ivory Sabyasachi lehenga. Of course, only the best for the princess!

Vishal Kadam and Vidya Patkar worked their magic with the makeup and hair, respectively. We love the traditional low bun and those bold smokey eyes.

Here is what Dhvani had to say about her wedding outfit:

“I had a rather difficult time deciding on my wedding outfit because I wanted something that matched my style and not just settle for a typical disco ball look just because I was a bride! The Sabyasachi lehenga that I settled on was something that instantly caught my fancy. I choose an ivory colour, rather risky for the typical gujju affair we were going to have. The colour, the cut of the lehenga, the work, just everything seemed perfect.”

Well, a little risk goes a long way in making you look unique on your wedding day. Point noted! And now it’s time to shift our attention to Mr. Groom for a bit. He also opted for a dashing Sabyasachi sherwani with an embellished shawl to complete his royal wedding look.
