How To Look Stylishly Gorgeous At Your Bestie’s Wedding Without Selling A Kidney!

All weddings are great, but attending your best friend’s wedding has a certain charm to it. Not only do you get to see your bestie walk happily down the aisle with the love of her life, but you also get to meet all your other friends. And your bestie’s wedding also means that you need to be the centre of attraction, and stun everybody with your impeccable fashion sense. But just because you need to look like a diva doesn’t mean you sell a kidney and splurge on your outfits. Here are some tips that will come in handy when you want to slay at your bestie ki shaadi, but on a budget!

1. Get it stitched… easy peasy!

All you need is the right fabric and a masterji who can give it the avatar you want with complete finesse. I have lost count of the number of times I’ve bought fabric from Chandni Chowk and Lajpat Nagar for sarees, lehengas and suits and totally nailed my wedding guest look.

2. Chandni Chowk to the rescue

I am a pure-bred dilliwali when it comes to weddings. Be it any wedding – cousin’s, friend’s or sibling’s – Chandni Chowk has something for every occasion. I just have to go there for all my wedding shopping needs and I’m never disappointed. You can buy something for every budget, every function and that’s just awesome! If you’re in Mumbai you can check out Santa Cruz market for all your wedding shopping needs, and Jaipur peeps can go to Bapu Bazaar, MI Road and Johri Bazar to score affordable outfits and accessories.

3. Just reuse your mumma ki saree

This is also one of the things that I usually do. I just a get a sexy blouse stitched and use one of my mom’s nice silk or chiffon sarees. It looks elegant, modern and yet traditional at the same time. Pair it with some nice accessories and you’re sorted!

4. Rent it out, baby!

While people were really apprehensive about renting outfits earlier, with the introduction of renting platforms like Stage3 and Flyrobe, this practice has become quite popular. You can get a lot of options within varied budgets. The outfits are all designer and they are delivered after proper fitting and dry cleaning and that are two of the best things about these portals.

5. Mix and match!

All of us have old outfits that we don’t want to wear again because you know, Instagram pe already picture post kar di hai! But what you can do is, try and mix and match. Pick the skirt of one lehenga, pair it with a saree blouse and get a new dupatta. You get what I’m saying? Indian wear is no more limited to being all matchy-matchy, use that to your advantage!

6. Opt for less famous designers

If you really want something unique and designer for your bestie’s wedding, then you can check out the less famous designers. In Delhi, you have the popular Shahpur Jat market that’s a hub for upcoming designers. If your city does not support any such markets, you always have social media to the rescue. There are a lot of budding designers retailing their stuff on Insta and Facebook. Here’s a list that’ll come in handy.

7. Look for those gems online!

And if you’re just super lazy or don’t want to go out in the scorching heat, then you can just settle on your couch with a cold coffee, and look for that perfect outfit online. You can check out websites like Kalki Fashion, Craftsvilla and Peachmode for affordable yet gorgeous stuff.
