PM Modi Accepts Kohli’s Fitness Challenge, Posts Video Doing Yoga On Twitter

If you’ve been anywhere around social media you’ve seen this fitness challenge going around. All the Indian celebrities have taken it upon themselves to motivate the country in order to do something for a healthier nation. B-town has latched on to the trend and made the #HumFitTohIndiaFit a social media whirlwind. From Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone to Shahid Kapoor and Varun Dhawan everyone is posting pictures and videos to inspire the youth towards a stronger and fitter lifestyle.

It seems to have made a difference because not just stars, even the general public has taken this revolution very seriously. Everyone is out there tagging their fitness freak buddies and gym enthusiasts are posting their own motivational videos (which isn’t a new thing, but still!)

Hold on to your dumbbells, because another superstar of the country has joined the challenge now – PM Modi! That’s right, our Prime Minister was challenged by Virat Kohli to post a workout video or photo and carry the message forward. Being a yoga enthusiast, he shared a video doing morning exercises.

His two-minute long clip focuses on stretching exercises and those to wake one up. He is even seen walking on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature – Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. Modi says that he finds it extremely refreshing and rejuvenating.

He further nominated some people and said, “I am delighted to nominate the following for the #FitnessChallenge: Karnataka’s CM Shri @hd_kumaraswamy. India’s pride and among the highest medal winners for India in the 2018 CWG, @manikabatra_TT. The entire fraternity of brave IPS officers, especially those above 40.”

However, his nomination didn’t go quite as planned as the Karnataka CM replied to his tweet but didn’t follow the challenge.

Ahhh, that was a little savage, wouldn’t you say!?

Keeping politics aside, it’s a great initiative. The youth is being pushed into mentally exhausting jobs that leave less time for physical activity and the kids are being sucked into the world of technology and are sitting within the four walls of their room and not playing outside like they should. Maybe campaigns like these will remind the country how imperative fitness is for a healthy life.

So c’mon guys, who all are ready to hit the gym and sweat it out?!
