When Goa Calls, You Answer: A Girls’ Weekend Getaway To The Party Town!

My weekends are usually spent on Netflix or at the mall. However, last weekend, I made other plans. I was looking for an opportunity to get out of the city, so I decided to make the ultimate weekend plan – Goa! Late on a Friday night, my colleague Sanjana and I arrived in the party city. We were staying at the Azaya Beach Resort, Goa and the hosts gave us a warm welcome and received us at the airport with a bag full of cold juices and water, so we could enjoy the ride back to the hotel – a 45-minute drive from the airport.

This quaint property was close to the Benaulim beach in the South of Goa. The reception was decorated with shells and pebbles and all things tropical. The staff was extremely pleasant and showed us to our rooms, which was a short walk from the reception. The hotel has 114 rooms – private pools villas, beachfront rooms and garden facing rooms. We had a capacious garden facing room with all creature comforts, but we only had a quick look here. We hadn’t eaten anything since morning, so we decided to explore their multi-cuisine restaurant, La Concha. The beachfront, al fresco restaurant was exactly the setting that we’d hoped we would find in Goa – open skies, clean air and peace. A glass of wine and a delicious chicken sandwich later, we were ready to call it a night. We had to prepare ourselves for the next day to explore this beautiful property.

On Saturday morning, we decided to take a walk by the private beach. After the breakfast, we decided to cheat on our diet and stuffed ourselves with their amazing breakfast spread. I loaded my plate with bacon, sausages, bread, an assortment of fruits & cheese and complemented it with freshly brewed coffee. I am drooling while writing this, so you can understand how yummy it was.

The rest of the day was spent exploring the resort, their swimming pool, checking out the water sports they had to offer and chilling at their bar/lounge called Lynx. Cool blue music and a pitcher of margarita were all that we needed to end our Saturday!

We spent our Sunday chilling by the poolside and the beach until it was time to head back to Delhi. Goa is always a good idea, and this was a good break from the daily humdrum. I returned to work the next Monday morning, feeling energetic and charged up to take on whatever this week had to offer.
