Dear Society, Here Are 7 Things We Are Definitely NOT Sorry For!

You may have noticed that women say sorry a lot. Most often, for things that don’t warrant an apology. But you know what? We don’t need to explain our actions to the world and apologise for things we believe in. So, in sister solidarity, we’re standing up for each other and telling the world about the things that we are absolutely NOT sorry for!

1. For picking a job we like even though it’s unconventional

Why should we not do something that we like just because it’s not usual? Sorry, NOT sorry!

2. For being independent

Being able to rely on yourself and take care of yourself emotionally and financially is a great thing and we cannot really apologise for great things in life, can we?

3. For NOT wanting to get married

It’s our life and we can choose to live it however we want. There is no such thing as ‘shaadi toh karni padegi’. We can choose to stay single if we like or live with a partner without throwing a grand feast. Or, we can believe in casual relationships for the rest of our life.

4. For wearing what we like!

I can’t wear shorts because my thighs are too thick? Can’t wear a crop top because I have a muffin top? A bright coloured top doesn’t compliment my dusky skintone? WHO made their rules and why should we follow them? We embrace our imperfect perfections and are very proud of them. And you know what’s our inspiration? This Ginger by Lifestyle film!

5. Crying...out loud!

NO, we’re not sorry for being emotional. We’re not going to feel contrite for being vulnerable at times because it’s only human.

6. For being too much!

Too much makeup? Overdressed? Underdressed? You can't please everyone and no matter what you do, someone will have a problem. So, let it go!

7. Setting boundaries or going all out!

Whoever we are, whatever we do, we own it. And that’s something we will never apologise for.
