The One Eye Makeup Look That ALL The Celebs Wore For #SonamKiShaadi!

#SonamKiShaadi may be over, but we aren’t over all the mania. If you haven’t quite been keeping up with the Kapoors, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot last night. And it was nothing short of a big fat (Indian) Bollywood wedding! The celebrations started off as an elegant star-studded event and the night ended with the BEST, most entertaining (drunken) shenanigans we’ve seen from Bollywood in a while! But what’s really been on our minds is the major makeup inspo after the wedding!

We’ve been browsing through the plethora of B-town selfies on Instagram and we found a look that seemed to be everyone’s fave. While Sonam rocked a bold cat eyeliner through her wedding created by her makeup artist Namrata Soni, everybody else’s eyes stood out, and a subtle brown smokey eye was the look that they went for! And we’re not surprised TBH.

A brown smokey eye is actually the easiest, most versatile eye makeup look you can create. And it looks just as good during the day as it does at night. There are so many different ways you can rock a brown smokey eye without it ever looking the same… Check out these celebs rocking the look!

Psst: There’s a quick 5 step smokey eye tutorial at the end of this post! Keep reading!

Now you may think of buying a bunch of products to give you this smokey, sultry look; but we’re here to tell you that you can create this look using just an eyeliner pencil and a shimmery gold eyeshadow.

Don’t believe us? Here’s a brown smokey eye in 5 easy steps:

Step 1:

Use a brown eyeliner pencil like the Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil – Glazed Toffee (Rs 499)

Step 2:

Roughly apply liner all over your eyelids and smudge it out using your fingers. The point here is to create a light brown base for the smokey eye. You can stop here if you want and add oodles of mascara. The Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara (Rs 1,350) is great for functions. It gives your lashes volume, length and definition!

Step 3:

If you want something more dramatic, apply some more eyeliner to the outer corner of your eye in the shape of a V. It should look something like a < and a > symbol. Use your finger to smudge this out again. Stop here or add some eyeliner to tie the look together.

Step 4:

Apply some eyeliner as close to your lashline as possible. Use your little finger and lightly smudge it out. You can even use a black eyeliner or create a cat eye. The Maybelline New York Gigi Hadid Liquid Liner (Rs 499)

Step 5:

Add a pop of colour to the centre of your eyelids to make the entire look seem very profesh! The Kiko Milano Water Eye Shadow in the shade Rosy Taupe (Rs 1,050) is the perfect champagne pink that can be worn alone or layered onto your smokey eye! If you’re looking for an eyeshadow palette the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in the shade Nude Awakening (Rs 499) is great value for money.
