Team POPxo On Their Fave Stores And Markets For Shaadi Shopping!

Team POPxo On Their Fave Stores And Markets For Shaadi Shopping!

Okay, so let’s get this straight. We love shopping. Well, most of us do. If I talk about myself, then I’d say that online shopping is one of my favourite pastimes and one of the main reasons behind my bank balance always being, ummm… yeah. But when it comes to shaadi shopping, online just doesn’t seem right. There’s this certain thrill in trying on various sarees and lehengas and gowns for that special wedding. So, if you like shaadi shopping just as much as I do, you will love this list of POPxo team’s favourite shopping stores in Delhi and Mumbai. Here we go.

1. Ogaan love!

When a family or close friend’s wedding functions are announced on short notice, my go-to place is Ogaan. This is because it has multiple designs on display under one roof so I don’t have to waste time running around and I can simply pick something as per my liking and budget. From Indo-westerns to out-and-out desi outfits, this store has it all and makes my life much easier.

2. Chandni Chowk to the rescue!

I cannot stress it enough, so I’ll just say this once. I LOVE buying traditional clothes, especially shaadi outfits. Whenever one of my cousins or friends is getting married, I go into an overdrive shopping mode. More than gowns and sarees, I prefer wearing lehengas to special weddings and so Chandni Chowk is my one-stop solution most of the times. There are a handful of stores I always visit when there, but Asiana Couture and Surya Sarees are my absolute favourites!

3. Kis kis ko pyaar karun!?

It’s not a store as much as it is a place. No matter what the occasion, I turn to Shahpur Jat for my outfit and I never come back disappointed. From lehengas to gowns, the designers there have a solution for every outfit problem.

My absolute fave designer for shaadi shopping is Abhinav Mishra. I discovered his store four years back when I was shopping for my own wedding and since then there has been no looking back. I swear by his collection for family weddings and big festivals. I love his classic style, the authentic handwork and quality fabric. I’m not an OTT or bling person when it comes to dressing up and his collection is just that… Festive yet elegant. Plus, when you go the same designer time and again, you can expect some pretty cool discounts too!

5. East or West, Kalki is the best!

I absolutely detest weddings because I’m extremely uncomfortable in Indian clothes. I always end up with a misplaced dupatta or a torn anarkali somehow. I prefer my Indian wear to be stylish but hassle free and easy breezy. I’ve been to Kalki a few times and what I really like is that they have clothes that work for your mom and will work for you too! And a lot of their designs are hassle-free while being in line with the latest trends.

6. Sagal Bedi FTW!

Akansha

I don’t really have to go all that far for my shaadi shopping needs. My cousin, Sagal Bedi, is a designer and I trust his designs blindly. The best thing about him is that he always takes your opinions seriously, which most designers don’t usually do. But his collection of gowns is legit my favourite reason to go to him. He made a pastel pink lehenga for me for our cousin’s wedding, and that fetched me endless compliments.
