To quote Lorde, "I've never seen a diamond in the flesh..." until I saw Priyank Chopra at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's #RoyalWedding this weekend. She was the only Indian celebrity to be invited to the wedding as well as the reception. And her outfits are every bit royal as the historic country of Sussex.
To the wedding, Priyanka Chopra followed the royal dress code with a beautiful Philip Treacy fedora matching her lovely-in-lilac skirt suit by Vivienne Westwood. But the shoes stole the show. She's wearing transparent pumps with an embellished anklet attached from behind. This beautiful pair of Jimmy Choos is one-of-a-kind, just like PeeCee. Priyanka has always been my dusky skin inspiration given the choice of colours she wears. Her second outfit from the wedding was no surprise either.
"And then she danced the night away... ✨"
Doesn't it look like she is wrapped in diamonds? Sparkling in a gorgeous gown by Dior, Priyanka looked every bit like a sculpture in the streets of a European city.
But she isn't the only Bollywood celebrity to embrace royalty this weekend. Here are five celebs who didn't need the royal invite to bring out their inner Duchess.
Jacqueline decided to look like a Disney princess for Race 3 promotions this weekend. All dolled up in a Jade by Monica and Karishma outfit and Anmol Jewellers earrings, we're so loving her pretty lashes and pink lips, and the half-tie hairdo.
Bhumi was in New Jersey last evening setting all kinds of wedding outfit goals in her gold saree. Wearing a Kiran Uttam Ghosh number, we’re crushing on draped metallics thanks to her sculptural pieces from the new collection.
Aditi Rao Hydari
Congrats Aditi for receiving the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award for 'Excellence in acting' for Bhoomi and Padmavat. The honour is as huge as the ruffles on your gown. In a Ridhima Mehra couture and earrings by Aaharya, we're enjoying the break from florals for sultry silhouettes this summer. Add a dash of bold to elegance with a dark lipstick, just like Aditi and you'll ever be royal.
Styled by her sister, Rhea Kapoor, Sonam dazzled in this pretty suit from the House Of Kotwara this weekend for the promotions of her upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding. We're enjoying how celebrities are opting for luxe-for-less outfits for movie promotions. We don't want this bridal streak to end.
Last but not the least, Athiya Shetty and her Paule Ka pantsuit that she wore for an event by The Lonely Planet. But that's not what got our attention. It's her Christian Louboutin flats that gave us the royal feels. Who knew you could wear flats with something as formal as a pantsuit?
All we can think about after a weekend of royalty is - let me live that fantasy!
