Did you know that you could just give yourself a facelift by massaging your face for 5 minutes a day? A facial massage helps to increase blood flow, flush out toxins, release tension, reduce sinus pressure, puffiness and water retention. It also helps your skincare products to penetrate deeper! Give yourself 5 minutes a day and massage those problems right off!
Here's how to give yourself a facial massage at home!
1. Start by washing your face with a mild cleanser and pat it dry. Take a little bit of scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells. Alternatively, you could use a facial brush with your cleanser to get rid of any dead skin cells.
2. Use a hydrating massage cream or a facial oil to begin massaging your face in small circular motions. We would recommend picking up a product that is designed for your skin type and for any problems you may want to fix. Eg. If you suffer from acne or pigmentation, use a cream or an oil that helps to brighten up your skin. Remember to massage in upward motions only. Do this for a minute or two and finish off by applying mild pressure going upwards from your nose and along your eyebrows and bring it down along the perimeter of your face. This helps drain lymphatic fluid and rid your face of toxins.
3. Massage your eyes to get rid of any puffiness, start at the centre of your eyebrows and apply light pressure outwards and towards your temples. Once you're done with this, move to your under eye area. Start at your inner corner and move outwards and apply gentle pressure to your temples.
