It’s almost here! The most awaited celebrity wedding of the summer is only a few days away.
Veere Di Wedding star and Bollywood’s biggest fashionista, Sonam Kapoor and entrepreneur Anand Ahuja are tying the knot on May 8, i.e. this Tuesday. Can. Hardly. Wait.
It’s going to be a star-studded, extravagant affaire, no doubt… Our excitement is through the roof now that the e-invites are also out!
Preparations are in full swing and festivities kick off the day after tomorrow, i.e. May 7, with the Mehendi. It goes without saying that we are holding onto our starstruck hearts, bracing for impact. By ‘impact’ we mean all the looks we’re waiting to spot and lose it over at Bollywood’s very own big fat Punjabi wedding. While Sonam’s bridal looks are still to be seen, we’re dreaming up potential looks for the fashionable bride-to-be, with the help of our favourite Indian designers. For her sangeet, we’d dress her in a big poofy lehenga with lots and lots of embroidery… with, because it will look amazing on her tall frame, a small blouse with a beautiful veil down the back. I’d design the ensemble in beautiful soft colours, but with a dominant fashion personality like Sonam, I’d pick a bronze gold. It would look incredible on her, especially with bronze toned makeup.

It would surely be a couture piece with minimal yet strong embroidered accents. Perhaps something in velvet and tulle with accents in hand-made 3D lured thread flowers, some sequin work, a few pearls and crystals.”
