While a wave of positive body image is definitely getting stronger, the idea of perfection hasn’t really changed. We are all somewhere unhappy with a certain physical aspect of our being and while most of us just want to love our imperfections, some of us would like to tweak it if we had the chance. I often go to the salon and I’m offered LASER treatments and lip fillers along with a cup of green tea. Beauty treatments like Botox, lip fillers and plastic surgeries are spoken of casually. And while I do like the fact that there is no shame in getting a little bit of work done, the pressure to look good (good being subjective) is very high.
If I’m feeling it, the world of Bollywood is buckling under it. Here are 10 Bollywood actresses that are most likely to have had work done.
1. Anushka Sharma
We all remember that episode of Koffee With Karan when her lips took over the show. None of her answers were as scandalous as her pout and she was criticised excessively for her lip job immediately after the show aired. Anushka Sharma issued a statement saying her fuller lips were the result of “lip enhancing tool” and “makeup techniques” she used for her role in Bombay Velvet. While the movie was a big flop, and I mean a really big flop, the actor went on doing more fabulous films and has never walked out post-surgery in daylight.

2. Sridevi and Jahnvi Kapoor
Late actor Sridevi was slated to have had a nose and lip job along with a steady dose of fillers. In fact, her early death was speculated to be a cocktail of crash diets, beauty treatments and lots more. Her daughter, Jahnvi Kapoor who is all set to make her debut in Dhadak is said to have gotten a nose job along with a nip and tuck on her face to make her face looks more contoured.

3. Shilpa Shetty
Known for her commitment to fitness, Shilpa Shetty is beautiful inside out. But there’s no hiding the fact that her face is dramatically changed. The 90s actress and reality show judge admitted to two nose jobs back in the day. Though this somehow did help her confidence and success, she’s one of the few actresses who has aged gracefully.

4. Nargis Fakhri
Before she made her debut in Bollywood, Nargis Fakhri was seen in America’s Next Top Model. And man, she looked different! She lost the show and was later discovered by Imtiaz Ali. While she’s one of the quirkiest and funniest actors in B-town, her nose is a whole new person and her pout is much more defined (not to forget bigger too!).

5. Priyanka Chopra
Before Alex Parish started killin’ it with her hairstyles, she was a small town girl who won Miss World 2004. While she was au natural when she started out, her nose seems to have gone smaller and more chiselled and her pout more defined. Priyanka has never fully admitted to it but then she hasn’t admitted to dating Shahid Kapoor either.

6. Vaani Kapoor
If you’ve seen Vaani Kapoor in Befikre, let me tell you she didn’t look anything like that in her debut film, Shuddh Desi Romance. After being taken in the YRF clan, Vaani got her big break but after a serious change in her face structure. She has never admitted to it but says toning up and weight loss are what we see on her face. We’ll take it.

7. Shruti Hassan
Daughter of Sarika and Kamal Hassan, Shruti Hassan is both a singer and an actor. She has been very open about her nose surgery saying her deviated septum (Rachel from Friends said the same thing BTW) and opted for a septoplasty.

8. Karisma Kapoor
As a 90s kid, I know just HOW big a change there is from her first film, Prem Qaidi to Zubeidaa. Sure, she went through a style evolution, everyone goes through it but the actor is said to have gone through nose and lip augmentation. Now in her 40s, the actor seems to be privy to fillers as well as Botox.

9. Kangana Ranaut
This was long before she was Queen and calling out as it is…but Kangana Ranaut too has seemed to given into pressure and gotten herself a lip job (see her lips in Raaz 2) as well as a facelift. Her hair and her badassery are 100% real though.

10. Katrina Kaif
If you take out pictures from Boom, or even Singh Is King, to today i.e. Tiger Zinda Hai, there is a huge difference in the way she looks. Sure, she was a lot younger back then but if you look closely, there is a difference in face augmentation. The actor was also rumoured for taking too many botox fixes back in 2017. Her 6 pack abs are next level though.

As you can see, plastic surgeries work for some, not all. Like Kylie Jenner and Shilpa Shetty, it is a way of looking and feeling more confident. And some, like Rakhi Sawant and Koena Mitra went a little too far. So here’s what we want to say to you if you’d like to opt for some of these procedures ensure you get the right kind of advice.
