Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s wedding was a total party of Bollywood, fashion and beauty lovers. It was nothing less than a red carpet event. It’s not every day you get to see so much happiness and fun packed into three days. We would like to believe, the stars were very well aware that they are attending the wedding of India’s favourite fashionista, and they tried their best to keep up with Sonam’s beauty looks. Some succeeded and some failed. Here are some of the beauty hits and misses from Sonam Kapoor‘s wedding.
1. Sonam Kapoor
No one tops the bride’s makeup except herself. Sonam’s hair and makeup stole the show at her evening mehendi function. Namrata Soni chose a pale pink lipstick and pink blush to complement Sonam’s white and beige outfit. To highlight the eyes, she went ahead with classic winged eyeliner and smokey eyes. Sonam’s hair featured the trend of the year: fresh flowers in hair but the fashionista improvised it by adding mogra to her braid. Braided strands on the sides added the texture and volume to Sonam’s hairstyle.
2. Janhvi Kapoor & Khushi Kapoor
The Kapoor sisters have truly cracked the simplicity-is-the-best code. Both of them kept the makeup classy with peach lipsticks and smokey eyes but directed our focus to their hairstyles. While Janhvi added flowers to her mermaid braid, Khushi braided strands from the front and turned a sporty-chic hairstyle into a traditional look.
3. Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif keeps her makeup simple and stays true to her style, which works in her favour most of the time. It was the same for the festivities. She opted for a candy pink lipstick and smokey eyes. Her hair and makeup artist Daniel Bauer finished her look with her signature straight hair.
4. Kareena Kapoor Khan & Karisma Kapoor
Sisters on the go! Never will Kapoor girls stop stealing the limelight. We have to say that Kareena had our full attention when she turned up at the reception party in a golden saree from Manish Malhotra but her winged eyeliner paired with sparkly eyeshadow was the hero. Karisma’s saree was perfectly complemented by her pink lipstick and smokey eyes.
5. Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty never fails to impress people with her saree styles but this time, we loved how she pulled off her soft curls and half smokey eyes. There could have been a better lip shade though.
6. Swara Bhaskar
The bold actress failed to make a positive impression with her AJSK outfit. Her makeup by Sara Capela felt completely off. A lavender eyeshadow and evidently pink lipstick did not go well with an already bright blue lehenga.
7. Shweta Bachchan
Shweta Bachchan is as classy as one can get. She pulled the white dress code with such elegance! Her skin was naturally glowing and she complimented her sophisticated white saree with smokey eyes and pink lipstick.
8. Rani Mukherji
Rani is a gorgeous woman but we can’t seem to agree with her makeup choices for this look. A dark maroon lip colour and smokey eyes added to a thick foundation and then paired with a heavy lehenga in gold are too loud to look at, perhaps a fresh face look would have done justice.
9. Kajol
Kajol’s saree was stunning but unfortunately, her grey eyeshadow and an awkward smile took the charm away.
10. Vidya Balan
Vidya knows her style but at times a wrong hairstyle can make you look older, that’s exactly what happened when Vidya went ahead with a loose bun for Sonam’s wedding reception.
