Team POPxo Reveals Beauty Essentials We Can Always Find In Their Bag

A woman’s handbag is a world of its own. From credit cards to house keys and green tea, my bag is a testament to this statement. It’s also home to some of the most used and needed beauty essentials. So we asked 7 women to spill the ultimate truth: what’s the one beauty product you never leave home without?

1. Hand Cream

Due to a lack of time, there are many times I skip my daily routine of applying moisturizer to my body, even though I do get time to use face cream I’m unable to moisturise my hands. My knuckles tend to get dry really frequently so carrying a hand cream is absolutely essential to keep my skin hydrated. I swear by The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cream (Rs 345) since it’s so compatible and fits easily into any handbag.

2. Face Mist

My handbag is a vortex, but it contains everything that I need. My three absolute non-negotiable must-haves are lip balm, wet wipes and face mist. Your face tends to accumulate a lot of grime through the day and while washing your face or wipes help to a certain extent, they do not seem to have the power to cool your skin down. So, the Kama Ayurveda Pure Lavender Water Face & Body Mist, (Rs 225), keeps me sane on those super hot days!

3. Body Lotion

Not many people know this about me, but I like to keep a big bottle of body lotion in my handbag at all times. Due to Mumbai’s fluctuating temperatures, the humidity makes my skin dry and rough. The moment that happens, I know I have to use a body lotion. I’m currently hooked on to Biotique Bio Winter Cherry Rejuvenating Body Nourisher (Rs 144). I think it works perfect for my skin type and leaves it feeling smooth and baby soft.

4. Lip Balm

The feeling of having hydrated and pampered skin is great! While a good skincare routine can get you the glow and healthy skin you’ve always wanted, lips need constant greasing as they dry out faster. Hence, I always carry a lip balm in my bag. For now, I’m using Forest Essentials Lip Balm – Sweet Narangi With Organic Bees Wax (Rs 625) and it’s working out just fine for me. Because of its all-things-good ingredients, it feels smooth, fresh, real and guilt-free.

5. Kajal

Being caught without kajal is a big no-no for me. No kohl eyes make me look unwell and that’s why it’s the one beauty product that I always have in my bag. Right now I’m using the Colorbar Just Smoky Eye Pencil (Rs 675). It’s waterproof, stays intact until the end of the day and is highly pigmented. The built-in smudger is great if you want to do a quick smokey eye.

6. Lipstick

I don’t think there is anything else that automatically makes it seem like I put in an effort. My favourite lipstick is a testament to the fact that the right colour is all you need to fix your face. NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream – Stockholm (Rs 600) came to me as a holy grail and hasn’t left my handbag in over a year, repeatedly restocked for its outstanding contribution to my life.

7. Eyebrow Pencil

I know it’s not a beauty ‘essential’ – but honestly, I think that it’s a personal choice. Most people feel more confident with a spritz of their favourite perfume or prettier with their favourite lipstick on, I like the focus to be on my brows. My favourite pick: Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil (Rs 1,898).
