Not only did she win our hearts by winning a gold medal in table tennis at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, but what caught our eye was what she had on her nails! Zoom into her nail art and take a close look at her playing and winning 3-1 over formidable Singapore in the final. Call it expression or patriotism but Manika actually had the tricolour painted on her nails, and we’re totally loving that vibe!
Yes, ladies, there were safron tips, followed by white nail polish below that and the Ashoka Chakra painted on the white part. And right below that was a stripe of green, completing the tricolour look.
Her win came as a massive setback to the Singapore women’s table tennis team that hasn’t lost in the Commonwealth Games since 2002. Well, all we can say is that it was Manika Batra’s hard work (of course) and perhaps the inspiration she got from our national flag that got her the number 1 spot!
