Team Talk: The Best Beauty Products We Found While We Were Travelling

Team Talk: The Best Beauty Products We Found While We Were Travelling

I don’t know about you, but one of my most favourite things about an international vacation is splurging on make-up and beauty products. Quite the curious cat of all things beauty, I love trying new products. I thought it was just me, but then I asked around at POPxo… turns out all of us have one of those absolutely holy grail finds we’ve picked up while travelling.

1. Laneige, Lip Sleeping Mask

1. Lanegie Lip Sleeping Mask

I picked up this Lip Mask (Rs 2,190) on a recent trip to Bali and I haven’t been able to keep my hands off of it. I’m not even a lip balm person, to begin with, but this one’s got me hooked. It’s got a thick, creamy consistency and it has completely transformed my lips. I’ve been told by a colleague that she can see my lips glowing from across the room, so if you’re into lip gloss – you should definitely try this balm. It’s better for you than the gloss anyway. This is one of those products I know I’m going to keep repurchasing because it’s that good!

2. Etude House, Wonder Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser

2. Etude House Wonder Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser

This foaming cleanser is a miracle worker, I picked it up from the airport on my way back from Singapore a few years ago. And since then, I’ve been constantly restocking it. Though everything by Etude House is a great buy, the Wonder Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser (Rs. 760) is everything your skin needs.

I’m a sucker for kawaii beauty products. If the packaging is pretty, I’ll pick it up on the spot! Last year, during my trip to Japan, I found this cute Klairs Mochi BB Cushion (Rs 1,500) while I was shopping at Shin-Okubo Koreatown in Tokyo. It’s a balm-type product that’s designed to give your skin a silky, smooth finish. Even though it’s rare to find in stores around India, you can totally pick it up online!

4. Victoria’s Secret, Sheer Love Kit

4. Victorias Secret Kit

I shop at every duty-free. So much so that I once spent about Rs 20,000 on perfumes, skincare products and make-up. Victoria’s Secret Sheer Love body kit (Rs 2,997) is one of my favourite finds–I love the body mist and lotion. A floral fragrance that I couldn’t refuse to buy was Eaudemoiselle de Givenchy (Rs 7,275) and I’m glad I had time to spare at Changi.

5. Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil and Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream

5. Nudesticks

I visit my sister in the US every year and that’s where I score the best beauty finds. No trip is complete without visiting Urban Outfitters multiple times. More than the clothes or anything, I absolutely love their beauty section and can spend hours going through products and brands that you won’t even find at Sephora. I always stock up on lip and cheek pencils by Nudestix (Rs 1,558), they come in lovely shades and the packaging is amazing. I love the small, travel-friendly box that has a mirror inside it as well as a sharpener for your pencil – perfect for the girl on the go.

Another fantastic find here are products by Mario Badescu, the Hyaluronic eye cream (Rs 1,170) in particular is amazing. The eye cream is not too heavy and is perfect for keeping the delicate area around the eyes hydrated and healthy. It’s got an aloe vera formula that soothes and renews. I’ve even gotten my mom addicted to this cream!

6. The Body Shop, All-In-One BB Cream

6. The Body Shop BB Cream

I’m not big on make-up and prefer to travel light. On a recent last-minute trip to Singapore, I decided to leave behind my entire make-up kit and only carried a kajal and lip balm. By the time I reached the airport, I regretted my decision. That’s when I picked up The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream. It’s super hydrating and blends into your complexion for a colour adapting, dewy finish that perfectly matches your skin tone. If you don’t like caking it up, then this is the product you need!

I really love trying out new hair products every now and then. I easily get bored with my existing products and so make it a point to pick up at least one hair care product whenever I travel. I purchased this super amazing Wella Elements Leave-In Conditioner Spray (Rs 1,337) from a random supermarket in Singapore 3 years back and loved it! I’ve become a huge fan of Wella conditioners ever since, so it was a pretty good travel buy.

8. Marc Jacobs, Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon – (Brown)ie

8. marc jacobs highliner brown ie

I had been on the lookout for a light brown matte eye pencil since forever! I know it’s very specific, but well, I need what I need. So, I’d run into every other brand store and Sephora wherever in the world I’d be, rummaging through all the eye products available there, but to no avail. It was at a Sephora in Seville, Spain, where I finally came across this light brown eye pencil at the Marc Jacobs counter. Trust you me, it was like a Eureka moment for me! The shade of the Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon (Rs 1,625 approx) matched my eye colour perfectly and I couldn’t be happier about this find. To be honest, I use it very sparingly because I’m scared it’ll be tough to find again!
