9 Easy Lipstick Hacks For That Perfect Pout After The Wedding!

One of the trickiest tasks in bridal make-up is getting your lipstick on point. You love flaunting your pouty lips, and definitely want your lipstick to stay intact till the end of the night. No matter how gorgeous your lehenga looks, or how well your make-up has turned out, it’s the lipstick that actually makes you stand out. But do you really know all the lipsticks hacks you need to? Fret not, as your fairy god mothers we tell you these super easy lipstick hacks that will definitely come in handy.

1. First and foremost, exfoliate.

A good exfoliator will wash off those dead skin cells, making it smooth and clean for your lipstick application. You can simply use a toothbrush dipped in warm water to gently exfoliate your pout or invest in a good lip scrub to bid away those chapped lip woes.

2. Use a primer, please!

Most women don’t prime their lips, but trust us, it’s important. Dab on some primer or a concealer as a base before swiping on your lippie. This ensures the true colour of the lipstick you expect and looks as good as the models you see on the packaging before buying it, plus it helps even out your pout if you have pigmented tones on your lips.

3. Lip liners are a must!

You can’t really do without a lip liner for an opaque and precise application. Not just that, it helps define your lips and also adds more volume to them. Aside from making your pout look fuller, lining your lips help prevent your lipstick from getting smudged or messed up.

4. Blot that extra colour away.

This is essential to make your lip colour last longer. To do so, place a tissue between your lips and press them on it. This takes away the extra colour and oil from your lips making it easy for the second coat to grip and settle in better.

5. Keep the lipstick off your teeth.

Those dark red and fuschia pink lipsticks look great on your lips, but not on your teeth. You also don’t want to worry about lipstick stains on your teeth spoiling all your wedding photos. Sweat not, here’s the trick. Stick your clean index finger in your mouth, wrapping your lips around it, and slowly pulling it out. In doing so, any excess lipstick that would have gotten stuck on your teeth will come off on your finger. Try it!

6. Dab a little extra on the centre of your lips.

For those perfect pouty wedding shots, you need to dab it a little extra on your lips. Take your lipstick and dab some extra colour in the middle of your lower and upper lip. And there you go!

7. Gloss it up for long wear.

You do want your lipstick to last for hours, right? In that case, you need to gloss it up a little. How? Apply a coat of clear gloss after you are done with the lip liner and lipstick. This helps to seal the lipstick and gives a moisturized look to your lips. Bye bye chapped lips.

8. Don’t forget to soften your lip liner.

Soften your lip liner with the tip of your finger after you apply it and before you apply your lipstick. This will prevent harsh and overly done lining.
